Given the circumstances of this season, Ed Orgeron has done a tremendous job. But, today's loss could have sealed his fate in the LSU HC campaign. It's a shame, because he's a great fit culturally, and the players love him. But, Jimbo Fisher is likely coming to the Bayou. I'm not overly excited, but I'm optimistic to see what Jimbo does for/to LSU.

Coach O should be able to wrap up the season with a win over A&M next week. After that, I hope they win a bowl game.

I like Charlie Strong but he doesn't have Texas going in the right direction. A 16-20 record and 3 seasons without a winning record isn't going to keep him that job for long.

Crappy game for Alabama, leading Chattanooga just 14-3 in the 3rd quarter.

Increasingly looks like the playoff path is as follows.

One spot to Alabama - assuming they beat Auburn then Florida, both of which they'll be huge favorites in.

One spot to Ohio St., Michigan or Wisconsin - Michigan or Ohio st. if they win this weekend and then the conference title game. Wisconsin probably makes it if they win the conference title game.

One spot to Clemson - Barring a big upset they should beat South Carolina and win the conference title game.

One spot to Washington - Assuming they beat Washington St. and Colorado in the conference title game.

If all hell breaks loose and Alabama or Washington or Clemson loses a game:

Colorado - if they beat Utah and Washington.
Oklahoma or Oklahoma St. - if they win out.
Florida - if they pull of a miracle and beat both FSU and Alabama.
Ohio St. or Michigan - even with 2 losses.
Penn St.

Tradition. They just don't move that game. The only time was in 2006 when the teams were ranked 1-2 and ABC basically forced them to move it to 3:30. I personally love it as a Buckeye fan. It's like Christmas. Wake up eat some breakfast and roll right into the game. I don't think most rivalry games are played at night or shouldn't be.

It's a game that demands to be seen on prime time. Nothing like a big game under the lights.

Charlie Strong is fired by Texas. No big surprise. You can't go 3 seasons without a winning record and make it there. He'll probably go back to some lower level program and be successful. Texas, with it's notoriously obnoxious boosters is one of the hardest programs to run.

Must have been some sources jumping the gun. The guy might be a dead man walking but it makes more sense to fire him at season end.

Why would Jimbo leave Florida State? Florida State has an easier path to the playoffs than LSU most seasons, and Florida State's program is very well supported by the university.
