Not better enough to win their own division.

Still believed by most to be the better football team. Including the committee.

I just don't think a team can be considered one of the top 4 teams and the only top 4 team in their conference... And not win their division. PSU won the division headlined by the #2 and #5 teams...

The Michigan factor probably has a lot to do with determining Ohio State over Penn State. Ohio State beat them yet Penn State got blasted by them. The Pittsburgh loss really hurts Penn State as well.

I'd like to see USC play a bowl game against the loser of the Big 10 Championship.

I think this Alabama squad could possibly beat the Cleveland Browns.

This may well be Saban's best team yet.

Ohio State defeated 4 Top 10 teams this season (at that time they played, 3 are still in Top 10). Penn State has nothing compared to that.

Penn State had a bye week prior to playing us and that game was at Penn State. They had the tools to beat us. And since so many people talk about the last play of the OSU Michigan game, let's go back to the last play of the OSU PSU game. They didn't win the division out right, it was by virtue of a tiebreaker.

Ohio State is by far one of the best teams. Send both OSU and B1G Champion to the playoffs.

I'll admit Ohio St. did finally play a tough schedule this year with the Big-Ten revived. Their SOS is #2 in the nation right now. The past several years Ohio St. had been in the #30-50 range in SOS when the Big-Ten was lousy.

Wisconsin and Penn St. aren't far behind though in SOS at #14 and 15 in the nation. Plus they have to play a conference title game unlike OSU. I'd still vote for Bama, OSU, Washington and Clemson if I were on the committee. I think Ohio St. has a more talented team.

That may happen. Or maybe even Michigan.

You do realize that every NFL team is basically a team of college all-stars, right? If the Cleveland Browns played Alabama 10 times, Cleveland would win all 10 times.

Let's not go overboard. No college team can beat the worst NFL team. All of the Browns, bad as they may be, made the NFL. Most Alabama players won't.

I disagree. This Alabama team is a team of college all-stars, too. Have you seen Cleveland play this year? They're terrible. No way the Browns would win all ten times. Typically, the worst NFL team probably would beat the best College team. I think this matchup would clearly be an exception to the rule.

"The gang at WhatIfSports.com ran a simulation pitting the current Crimson Tide roster against the current Browns, and, over the course of 1,001 games, the 2016 Browns won 93.9% of the time, by an average score of 33-14."

See! They might win one!

I know. I've seen high school teams that I thought could beat college teams too.
When you see teams that are this good and, conversely, teams struggling so badly, it's fun to think of possible matchups like that.

I thought Long Beach Poly would whoop Concord De La Salle and end their streak. I was at the game and Poly was much bigger and faster all-around, but De La Salle was well coached and played as a solid unit. Then Maurice Drew broke one down the right side and did a flip into the end zone and I just shook my head.

Reality always trumps speculation.

Washington isn't getting left out for a 2nd Big-Ten team in a 4 team playoff. Don't be ridiculous. It's Alabama, OSU, Clemson, Washington. Any of those four that get left out would be a massive surprise.

Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it never will.

Washington was #4 and beat a top 10 team by 31 to win their conference. They're a lock.

Yep. The playoff committee boxed themselves in regarding UW.

It's the right choice given only four teams are allowed. We really need to get to eight.
