that's true about belt-drive vs. direct-drive. direct-drive tables actually sound better. i guess it's because there's less wobble on the platter as it's connected directly to the drive mechanism instead of to a belt.

i also know that the needle can make a HUGE difference in the sound, too. so that's one place you don't wanna skimp, either.

I don’t have any type of alcohol or liquor in my home, since I don’t drink. I occasionally drink soda, but mostly when I am working in the yard.
I am more of an ice water kind of guy.

I only drink water ( there are exceptions from time to time) but on occasion I'll have a glass of Knob Creek Bourbon

I used to have a console with a turntable, radio and 8-track player. The turntable I used quite a bit. Damn, I loved that console. Every so often I run across one on craigslist for a few hundred bucks at the most and I'm tempted. I just don't have a spot for one.

Right across the river ( the Ohio ) in Indiana there's a place called Hubers Farm and on it they
have the Hubers Winery, they makes some great local area Wines.

I think the only Wine I've had in the last 30 yrs has been from there

Oh and the place they make Knob Creek Bourbon is near as well.
Went there once for a tour, watched them hand dip the bottles into the red wax that cover the top of the Bottles ..

I pretty much am the same. I have a few in the kitchen, a few in the basement area, a few in the garage, although come to think of it I don't have one on my set of keys..

It's on the lower end of $, but plays like it's $$$. Easy to use and great to turn on and just relax. Hooked it up to a couple of Polk powered speakers.
