I bet it gets paired with Deceived. Same director and both were licensed to Mill Creek at one point.

I don't recall Disney releasing this on DVD themselves. It was licensed to Anchor Bay who released in DVD in the early 2000s. That's the only DVD release I'm aware of, not saying there aren't others but I can't recall seeing others.

Are the double features on a single disc?

Disney reissued it in 2004 with a different cover.

Not sure if it was a port of the old disc or a new pressing.

I'd be okay with that. Just want Bad Company more than anything else.

Disney is only licencing out ABC/Cinerama, Touchstone, and Hollywood Pictures titles that were ether previously licensed out to other companies (AB/MGM for ABC, and Mill Creek for Touchstone and Hollywood) or never released on DVD in the US (which there were quite a few of such as Jerky Boys: The Movie and Tough Guys). The more notable Walt Disney Pictures and classic Buena Vista titles are obviously not going to be farmed out, as evidenced by DMC putting out some of them.

The funny thing is some TS/HO titles that Disney DID release on video themselves in the US (like The Wrong Guy) ARE included in this deal, but that is because those were previously licensed out to Mill Creek (who's arrangement with Disney just expired) and the original BV DVDs are OOP.

Dragonslayer is with Paramount in the US and are like Disney in terms of licencing (with only licencing out titles they never released on DVD in the US or were put out by other labels). And since they've released that one on DVD themselves, KL or Olive licencing it is out of the question.

Well, crap. Why don't I just go for three strikes tonight? Does Young Guns II cross over into this Touchstone deal? I remember them being with Morgan Creek (not Mill). But I thought someone mentioned Touchstone in all this. Is that film possible in this Touchstone/Kino deal? Probably not if you're correct about the "never previous DVD release" thing.

What an odd stipulation.

With all this fantasy related stuff going on in mainstream entertainment these days I wonder what the hold up of DragonSlayer is.

"Taking Care of Business" with Jim Belushi and Charles Grodin would make sense given it was with Mill Creek and its Disney DVD is OOP.

Morgan Creek owned Young Guns II outright before selling the library (Revolution Studios got international rights while it's been suggested Shout! Factory got domestic rights).

I believe Cabin Boy got scooped up in a multi-pack from Mill Creek.

I don't want none of that Mill Creek's flank steak shit. Gotta try Kino's London broil!

That's correct. It was in a three pack with It's Pat and Frank McKluskey, C.I. and repackaged in an eight pack with The Wrong Guy, The Sixth Man, It's Pat, Gone Fishin', Mr. Wrong, Kazaam, and Celtic Pride.

I think Cabin Boy could sell well as its own disc for a number of reasons.

Wow! Hadn't heard that. Never heard of Revolution Studios. They the type to release YGII? (I'm not even gonna hope for a domestic release at this point. Yet.)

In the past, terrible copies of this film kept me from watching.
The Blu-ray of "House of the Long Shadows" was a great revelation.

I was afraid that the 4 legends would be thrown away,
but happily Price, Cushing, Lee, Carradine all have very good rolls.

Not sure if it was a port of the old disc or a new pressing.
It was a new pressing with a superior transfer.

There's an even better full 1080p version through Disney DMA that's obviously Blu Ray ready. The fact they've already remastered it themselves leads me to believe if it does come to BD it will be a Disney Movie Club title.

Revolution Studios produced a bunch of movies in the early 2000's for Sony and is still around as a holding company for their properties (they are credited on this year's xXx: Return of Xander Cage). They've been buying a number of smaller libraries in recent years for television and streaming rights and have licensed titles to international labels for home video. They've also licensed titles to Park Circus for repertory screenings.

Now I remember...someone in another thread a while back told me that Sony owned the rights to YGII, which really deflated me. I guess this is what they meant. I can only hope the theory of Shout! having domestic rights is true.

I did take a look at some Touchstone/Hollywood films that were either not released on DVD in Region 1 or went to Mill Creek with their original DVDs OOP as far as I can tell. This doesn't include films that were already released by Mill Creek on BD. I'm sure there's more, but here's what meets this criteria as far as I can tell:

Off Beat
True Identity
Taking Care of Business
The Jerky Boys
Passed Away
The Air Up There (no evidence the announced R1 DVD was ever released)
Mad Love
Cabin Boy
Mr. Destiny
It's Pat
Unstrung Heroes
Celtic Pride
The Associate
The Sixth Man
Shadow Conspiracy
Washington Square
The Scarlet Letter
Gun Shy
Oscar
Green Card
Mumford
Deceived
The Rich Man's Wife
Hello Again

Some titles have been licensed to Sony for DVD and eOne for television in the US (eOne might have gotten those DVD rights and may be distributing through Sony but the covers only show the Morgan Creek logo). Shout! has released some Morgan Creek titles on Blu (Dead Ringers, Nightbreed, The Exorcist III, Bad Moon), suggesting that if they own the library, they may be licensing DVD-only rights to Sony or eOne (much like how MGM have licensed DVD and Blu-ray separately on Twilight Time titles).

I would love to see Celtic Pride or The Air Up There! Loved those movies growing up!
