Wes Anderson did approve the telecine... so, I'm gonna say yes.

So, as long as your monitor is properly calibrated, then you're seeing the intended look of the film.

It looks pretty consistent with how I remember it theatrically.

If you're looking for a bizarre film, or for some laughs, in general, then yes, buy it. I very much enjoyed House.

Wow, this thread really exploded today. When I saw how many new pages there were, I was sure that either: there was another argument (CG made someone angry ) or, the January announcements were released a day early. Shocked to find out it's neither. Perfect harmony.

I totally forgot about that Amazon poll. Does anyone remember what the other title was, besides Down By Law and Howard's End?

I still have to watch those Morrissey movies you recommended CG. They look really interesting. I put my Netflix acct. on hold for a while so I can catch up on all the movies I own, but haven't watched yet. As soon as I re-activate it, I'm gonna watch em.

Cool, thanks. I thought there was only three for some reason. No offense to anyone that really likes Howard's End, but I think I would have preferred any other title on that list.

Watched Picnic At Hanging Rock today for the first time via Netflix. Good film. Wouldn't mind having it on Blu-Ray.

For me, Elevator to the Gallows
No doubt......"The Friends Of Eddie Coyle". Love that gem of a film.

My initial thought was "Sid and Nancy" however.
Wow Beta...I had forgotten about Spartacus...good choice. I had also bought it and returned it as well, for the same reasons.

If Criterion can't ever release it on BD, I sure hope Universal gets their act together and tries it again with a better transfer.

I forget exactly when it took place, some time early this year I think, but Criterion let people vote on which one of those titles would be released. Howard's End was the winner, which is the reason it's in the collection.

Criterion and Amazon created a poll for Amazon shoppers to vote on a future blu-ray title. The winner was "Howards End."

Don't those Criterion Cast guys usually post the trailers of the movies that are gonna be released prior to the actual announcements? If so, they've Tweeted the trailers for "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" and "Shock Corridor" tonight. You think that means those two will be in the announcements?

Wow... I can't believe Howard's End would win a poll.
