This is gonna be some kind of box office monster.
I'm in NYC as well. Are you serious?!? Jesus...

They're there because that's the only legit IMAX theater in the city. Why not just buy them online, I wonder? They think they're going to have better luck at the box office?

If they don't have the lasers by December, who even cares if it's "legit".

U.K. theater websites have been crashing all day do to pre-orders. We're on the verge of people literally breaking the internet.

Not all movie-goers will be able to get their tickets to the first day showing; good luck to those who get them!

Not yet but should be online any time in the next 2 hours. I also won't be sleeping until i've seen it at least twice!

The trailer is said to air at 8:30pm during ESPN's Monday Night Football halftime show.

Problem is, Monday Night Football doesn't begin until 8:15pm.

Halftime of the game. Meaning everyone will have to wait two full quarters to see it mid-way through. No way it's happening at 8:30pm unless you're non-East coast.

Lasers won't happen at Lincoln Square this year, but latest word is they may actually have them by late January (basically in time for The Finest Hours, the next scheduled IMAX release after Star Wars).

But anyway, the only reason I can come up with to wait hours in the cold is worry all the websites will crash (which seems to have happened to an extent in the UK, but unlikely to happen to all the multiple websites tickets for AMC locations can be bought on).

Tickets are available in the US now for preordering on Fandango. Better move quick. The 7PM IMAX showing on Thursday the 17th at the Marque here in H-Town looks like it's almost sold out.

Oh man, I think the last time I was waiting around for a trailer was for the original X-Men film in 2000 (I was a fanatic of the comic back then). I remember I missed the original airing of it (I think it was during the Super Bowl or soon after) but I was able to download the trailer off of Fox's site. It took like almost 2 hours and it killed me not to start playing it before it was done buffering out.

I stayed up through the middle of the night to download the 2nd Phantom Menace trailer. I think the Star Wars website posted it around midnight if I recall correctly. It took forever to download a file like that back in those days.

It seems like only random theaters have it up. Weird.

That's what I thought. I'm on the East coast. So that would be 9:30 or 10pm for me?

All the ones in H-Town are available last time I checked. I wonder if there's an official time they're supposed to start selling tickets or we've already past that.

Decided to check fandango and my local theaters had tickets for sale. Got two for the 7:30 showing on the 17th. Would have done 7:00, but that was in 3D and the other was 2D. I guess being a half hour behind will be ok.

Yeah, here in NYC it looked to be about half the theaters that will end up having it (and not by chain or anything I can tell either). Theater closest to me had it up, but for instance Lincoln Square didn't (and clearly they wouldn't put up a line with small sign outside if they weren't going to be selling tickets), and both are AMCs.

The marathon starts at 1AM and it looks like there's only about 15-20 minutes between films and then about an hour or so between Episodes 3 and 4. Sounds like fun.

Odd that they would split up showtimes, seems like theaters here are having showings in all available formats right at 7.

The AMC Empire has 5 showings currently scheduled for then: regular 3D and 2D, IMAX 3D, PLF 2D at Dolby Cinema screen, and a showing as part of the SW marathon.

Are there any IMAX 2Ds? Or are they all IMAX 3D?
