Buy them all mate . If I had to choose 1, I'd go with Gladiator. I don't own any of those UHD disc yet, so I can't give my recommendation on which is best quality out those choices, Gladiator is just my favourite movie out of that selection.

Congrats on the new purchase, Vilya. I recently purchased a new TV, and was faced with the same decision, OLED for quality, or LCD for a larger tv for the same money as a smaller OLED. In the end I decided on the LG 65" C9 OLED, I just couldn't settle for going back to LCD. The distance of my seating is about 2-2.5 metres from the screen, so I thought 65 inches is plenty enough for my current needs (the previous tv I upgraded from was also 65 inches). I am also intending to add a 4K projector to my setup at some stage, so I figured that will fulfill the need for a larger size screen, and will also give me the option of being able to watch 3D movies on my main setup once again.

Just got back from the Paso Robles, CA area today. A friend of ours manages Vineyards, it's harvest time tasted and bought many good wines. We talked about Movie watching, and he watches very little DVD and BD mostly Netflix. No UHD 4K!

Oh wow, that must be truly, significant data for you. I hate to be the one to break this really old news to you but the populous gets their entertainment via pay TV.

As to disc, data from the last report showed disc was viewed a fair amount more than EST. That is a apples to apples comparison.

Eh, I wouldn’t say that Steedeel. There are a lot of great movies on Netflix (and Prime for that matter). Some are classics. That being said, alchav21’s story feels incomplete and too much is left to the imagination. Is the friend to preoccupied with their job and have little time for anything else or something else?

Alchav's comment is entirely hearsay and statistically insignificant at that. He has a friend that allegedly doesn't watch 4K discs and watches other disc formats infrequently, so bloody what? It has no bearing on anything even if it is an accurate secondhand account of what one unspecified person said.

Is anyone interested in hearing about the viewing choices of my friends or of my family? I really doubt it. Personal anecdotes mean nothing and they prove nothing.

We have actual sales and market data that tells us how the respective home entertainment sectors are doing. Hearsay accounts about how our friends are watching content are not in any way, shape, or form statistically significant indicators of market trends or performance.

Honestly, I think you give alchav21 too much credit Vilya. This is why most consider their posts trolling in spite of their tenure in the forum. Wendell’s post hits closer to the mark in my house. Our cable company had a network issue that knocked out our HD stations. So I was trying to explain to my MiL why she couldn’t play Yahtzee on her iPhone or watch MSNBC

Cable and subscription streaming are becoming the same thing in the U.K. Netflix is available through Sky with a very prominent front page shared with Sky’s exclusives and Peacock (NBCUniversal) will be available for free with ads to all Sky customers. Basically, all of those I mentioned is going to be heavily advertised and promoted through Sky’s Pay tv service.

His house in Paso Robles in a rural area, and he did say he was a Cord Cutter no Cable or Satellite. So it's OTA or Streaming, but I just like to comment on my observations. They seem to go along with the trend. With all the strong Streaming Providers like Disney+ and HBO Max, we are headed for a Streaming World!

Just out of curiosity, what are you passionate about besides streaming? What hobby do you hold near and dear to your heart and couldn't imagine a world without?

I'd just like to know so I can repeatedly tell you how doomed it is and how you must get used to life without it. How no one likes it and my cousin's friend has never heard of it and would never use it. How stores are abandoning it and in 5 years it will be a world free of your said hobby! And I will do so with glee and many exclamation points!

You only "observe" what you want to see and then cite that as all conclusive "evidence" to support your biased view and outlook.

I could bore everyone here, as you do, with stories of my friends that buy and watch discs and that think that streaming sucks sweaty balls, but I don't because it does not prove anything. It should not come as a news flash that our friends share many of our own interests. The sum of my friends and your friends are not a statistically significant sample and our stories about them are unverifiable hearsay. In short, these anecdotes are worthless and no one gives a rat's ass how my friends, or your friends, watch a damn thing.

Just to be clear: I hate cable even more than streaming.

With streaming you can only buy and watch things while they are offered by the studios. They can remove or modify titles at any time.

With cable you can only watch things (or record them) at the exact time they air. If you miss them they are gone forever.

With physical media you can buy and watch almost everything that's ever been available. The used market ensures that out-of-print titles remain available for many decades. The studios have absolutely no ability to ever take anything off the market.

You’ve posted these stories of random people that you’ve spoken to, who have apparently told you that they don’t really use physical media anymore, about a dozen times. 12 down, only 7,699,999,988 people to go... keep going mate, you’re on a role.
