Heading to B&N tomorrow to participate in my first Criterion sale. Dunno how I'm going to stop myself from spending a fortune, though....

I don't like to be negative and I really want to give Criterion the benefit of the doubt - but the site redesign is awful. An embarrassment, frankly, when compared to the old version.

I hate the new Criterion website. It looks really nice but it's a nightmare to navigate. I wish they at least left the old version as an option.

I have to agree about the website - it's pretty but it's not useful.

During the B&N sales, I would often navigate the old site and grab a few extra titles while browsing. Now I stick to what I need.

The new Criterion site is fashion over function.

Went to Barnes & Noble yesterday to participate in my first Criterion sale. Aside from having to ask an employee to pull the Breakfast Club from the "additional stock box" in the back, it was pretty much in and out for me.

Choose "Browse the collection", then "All films", then "Filter" towards the right above the list that appears. From that go into "Format" and click the check box on "Blu-ray", then hit "Apply."

One thing I noticed is that any release in the dual format packaging will not show up using this filter, which imo, is a glaring mistake that should have easily been caught.

I'm not a Barnes & Noble member anymore, I don't live close to a B&N store with a media section, and I've grown weary of how their website doesn't allow pre-orders on the discount or does not include new releases on the website in the sale, so I did the next best thing and took advantage of Amazon Prime's resultant discounts today...

Dead Man - $22.97
Bull Durham - $22.97
The Virgin Spring - $22.97
Sex, Lies and Videotape - $22.97
A Matter of Life and Death - $22.97
Dietrich & von Sternberg in Hollywood - $62.49

I dropped the ball and forgot to order what I wanted into my local B&N (it doesn't have a media department), so I placed a ship-to-home order:

I'll be getting a few more as the sale progresses, though I'm really anxious to get these three:

My B&N.com order:

Since the sale runs for a while, I'm gonna do another order next payday for a few more titles.

Except they DO allow pre-orders in the sale (the ones that come out within the timeframe of the sale) and they DO include new releases in the sale.

Everything you listed I ordered form B&N at 50% off, and I'm not a special member or anything.
