Just watched Hitchcock's Strangers On a Train on TCM. Now I knew Throw Momma From The Train was a comedic take off on it, but had never seen it. It was excellent as Hitchcock's films usually are. And I loved the way Robert Burkes filmed the murder scene. Don't wanna give it away if you haven't seen it , but it was filmed beautifully. For a murder that is.

Recently watched:

"Pandorum"

Entertainment: 3.5/5. Lots of bloody action, cool-looking special effects. Dragged in a few parts though.

Story: 3/5. It has a decent premise. I found myself questioning the integrity of the story up to the end, by which point I decided that it's actually pretty decent. Characters are still pretty flat (the main character shows some background, but they're all still average at best).

Film: 4/5. Seems decently made. Photography is good. Acting/writing are okay. Sets, props, costumes, effects, etc are excellent. Music is not bad.

Intellectual/emotional: 0/5. Turns me into some kind of space zombie.

Total: 3.5/5. Not bad for $10.

"Three Kingdoms: Ressurection of the Dragon"

Entertainment: 3.5/5. A decent amount of fighting. Imagery is really nice. Pacing is not bad.

Story: 2/5. Couldn't really get into it much. Never got a good grasp of the characters. Lost interest pretty quickly.

Film: 3.5/5. It appears well-made; photography is decent and there is some good photography (although they did use the stuttering slow-motion effect, which I don't really care for). Acting and writing seem okay. Sets, props, costumes, etc are great. Music is not bad.

Intellectual/emotional: 0/5. Can't think too much about a movie I was barely paying attention to.

Total: 3/5. It's alright, but doesn't hold a candle to "Red Cliff" or "Hero" or any of the other good Chinese epics I've seen. I'll probably give it another try some day, but for now, all I can say is meh...

The Rage: Carrie 2 - First time I have seen this film. The reason for that is the bad reviews the film got and so fourth. This wasnt nearly as bad as people made it out to be. I think again people hate when a great film is either remade or touched. This wasnt a remake but I think people felt disrespected as there was a film using the Carrie name. With that said I thought it was a decent film actually. No it has nuthin on the original which I havnt seen since I was a kid so hopefully it has aged well. Overall I would rate the film 3/5 Got Em!!

I wouldnt call it a twist but yea that was a "wow" moment. It was actually good to see her in the film and I like how they connected the two films as well with the footage and whatnot. Again not a bad film. Got Em!!

I forgot to tell you check out "The House of the Devil." It's an extreme slow burner, but creates that eerie atmosphere and looks like a homage to the 80's. Great and overlooked movie.

Coraline, borrowed the BD.

PQ 5/5

AQ well, I could hear the sounds well/5

The picture is amazing, as the reviewer here stated, perfect, no less no more.
This is defintely what Blu-ray is about, stuff like this make me feel very fortunate to be a movie geek this day and age. The story is okay to me, had me interested and the characters were interesting as well.
But Nightmare Before Christmas is still my favourite if you have to know, but I have to say that this is a great rental, can't go wrong with that.

7/10

Surrogates–3.5/5

This could of been better but I still think it was pretty good. The idea of this film was really good and I thought the ending suited it just fine. I like Bruce so that def helped. I think everyone should def check this out.

Love Actually

Film: 3 stars (out of 4)

This is an excellent romantic comedy. I agree that there are too many stories and sub-plots going on, but the film is very well-written and the characters are very likeable. Highly recommended for watching with that special someone.

I was very pleasantly surprised by that film. I kinda liked that there were so many stories and people involved because it made it feel like the how Holidays can actually feel....hectic.

I loved when Grant was in his first few moments of office and
[Show spoiler]blurts out the Fword.
I was rolling.

Really heartwarming flick. On my wishlist waiting for a pricedrop.
