Anyone else having issues getting Jurassic World to play in a PS4? I just opened my copy and the movie wont play, I have BD live turned off and my internet connection disabled and I am on 3.10 firmware but the movie is constantly loading. Disc plays fine in a PS3, on the PS4 its getting stuck on the black screen with the white universal logo

Finished watching the movie just a little over an hour and a half ago, my second time since seeing it in the theater. Still highly enjoyable, it has its issues but damn it, it hits all the right notes for me and is just such a blast to watch. It's impossible for me to dislike this film.
The extras were fun enough to watch but nothing mind-blowing. They do indeed suffer from the movie simply being too recent; the extras are selling the film as much or more than they're informing us about the production. The deleted scenes were the most interesting thing, and in this case it's easy to see why they were deleted. Oh, sorry, I guess I should've been clearer. I mentioned the '70s because if the T. rex had aged naturally and reached full maturity by '93 she'd have to have been born/hatched in the '70s. I wasn't arguing against you but more adding to what you said. ![]() |

Well, the book took place in 1989. I can't remember when they said that they actually started cloning the Dinos though... In the movie, I don't think they've been doing it since the 70's She (Rex) could have been about 3 years old in JP1. We really don't know how fast a Dino grows. Look at Dogs vs People. Dogs are near full grown at 1 year, a person takes ~20 years. |

As you said, only the very top of the ISPO card even mentioned 3D; the rest of the card referred to "any Jurassic World Blu-ray". The fine print at bottom said the preorder gave you a discount of up to $19.99 off "any Jurassic World Blu-ray". Since I preordered it along with Inside Out (whose ISPO card has separate barcodes for 2D & 3D, unlike JW), I read that as meaning the 3D would most likely be extra; they certainly weren't gonna fill all the ISPOs in 3D. That's how my BB handled my purchase (even though they had the same disclaimer posted), ironically on both regular & tin versions of the 3D: They initially allowed me to get the regular 3D for $5 extra (conveniently covered with a RZ certificate ![]() |

Just the basic blu-ray for me, and I've had no problems with it. I was watching the special features and I was surprised how far a cry this film was from the original with all the cg-dinosaurs and backgrounds. Everyone kept saying so much how it is to act with nothing really there. I kind of missed hearing everyone talking about how real the dinosaur models looked from the first film.
Oh well, time marches on. |

We do know how fast at least some dinosaurs grew. The bones contain layers, growth rings similar to what you'd see on a tree trunk, and they can figure out the age, growth patterns and such based on that. T. rex didn't start its fast growth until the age of 12, then reached maturity at around 18-20. Whether or not the JP dinosaurs age like the real animals did though is another question. I'm guessing they would under normal circumstances, but that InGen implement growth acceleration to get them "display-ready" sooner. Quote:

Received my Limited Edition Gift Set today and I am really glad I didn't cancel the pre-order.
The package arrived in a great condition with excellent protection from air bags and the gift set looks amazing. The 2 dinosaurs' statues are heavy and of very high quality which was a nice surprise and the tin is not bad at all with no dents or scratches whatsoever. I think it is a good disc packaging between normal amaray cases and steelbooks and the embossing is great. $25 is a good price for the discs in the tin packaging and $45 is very fair for the 2 statues so I think $70 is a very good price overall. PQ and AQ are of reference quality too and the 3D is excellent. I already got the 3D single disc from the UK because it has Arabic subtitles for the family but the lack of full quality 2D option is now a non issue with the US 2D disc. |
