I'm split about the ending here. On the one hand, I'm happy it is the beginning of Phase Four and all, but on the other, I do agree with the point that it was over-hyped. If it was treated like your run of the mill Marvel ending, it's good...problem is you have Paul teasing this 'ultimate actor' who turned out to be himself, you have a promo of the cast begging you not to spoil the end, which the only other Marvel production I can remember getting that treatment was Endgame so I wouldn't be surprised if people expected something on the scale of not only Endgame, but rather, the end of Season 2 of The Mandolorian, which sounds like a more realistic comparison since they're a similar beast rather than comparing a film to a D+ TV show.

[Show spoiler]But honestly there isn't much to spoil here, finale was pretty by the numbers. Just a new costume for Wanda and I guess White Vision living on.
And F off with Bohner. Casting Evan Peters for a d*ck joke, that's just stupid.

People need to control the hype meter for themselves.

I'm up through Ep.4. I watch every weekend and obviously I can't watch just one episode. (Lay's potato chip theory) It's a very unique way of storytelling. Weaving TV episodes into TV episodes. Like looking at the reflection of a mirror in another mirror, sort of. I'm surprised David Lynch doesn't have his hand in there somewhere Then there are superheroes. Ep 5 and 6 are tonight. Love the nod to The Brady Bunch

I would go further than good - stand-alone, without the hype, I think it was pretty close to excellent. It told the story it was trying to tell, and having Agatha be the big bad was absolutely fine. While I won't crap on Bettany for what he did (I honestly don't think he thought his comment would end up being this definitive statement so many took it as), it clearly would have been better if he just hadn't said it.

Again, though, I think it was rather excellent. My only personal disappointment was with the two things that look like red herrings at this point - Dottie and fQuicksilver.

On the Dottie front, I still hope we are going to see her back in something in the future - mostly because I just love the actor so much. It was pretty heavy-handed with the implications that Dottie Jones was Arcanna Jones - the last name, the yellow motif, hell even her husband had the same name. I really wonder if she, and Debra Jo Rupp, will be appearing again in the inevitable Agatha spin-off (which the finale set up quite well).

With fQuicksilver, I'll accept the answer for now - if it truly turns out the case he was really Rey...I mean, no one...count that as my only real disappointment with the series. Then again...like any of this, this was just the beginning of Phase IV, so who knows what will happen next.

Overall, though, the whole thing was pretty wonderful. I think it is going to stand-up well to rewatches, at least for me - I thoroughly enjoyed the sitcom sections, and seeing it as a whole from episode 1 to 9 again is going to be fun, when I can just sit back and enjoy it for what it is - a really tightly-woven, richly detailed season of television - and not "worrying" about what surprises are next.

And mark my words, LOL - we will be hearing about this show again at Emmy time. I think it's going to be at the top of the nominations, and I will be shocked if Kathryn Hahn at least doesn't win, if the show itself doesn't sweep.

I will admit that I might've been too vague just by referring to it as good since I was focusing more on the cons. I said it was good in the sense that it wrapped up the story the way it should've but not in the way some expected with no massive shocks or even 'jumping the shark' moments.
[Show spoiler]I will agree with the point of Quicksilver being one of the only non-hype based disappointments. If anything, he felt out of character in this last one. He went from the radical wild cool uncle/Francis from Malcolm In The Middle type character in Episodes 5 and 6 to essentially a stoner character. Plus with SM3 and DS2 relying mostly on the multi-verse, it's a shame that he was put away for a cheap 'Bohner' joke. I felt it would've been nice if he was pulled out of the multiverse by Agetha and this sparks the curiosity of the multiverse. It doesn't need to be this massive X-Men introduction, just something short and sweet.

This seriously bothered me more than any of the other things people were disappointed with. She was a major side character in this and she wasn’t in the previous episode at all. When she finally returns in this, she gets like one line and never appears again!

Didn’t the writers think she was worth at least putting in the first post credit scene with the other characters?
[Show spoiler]We really just had to have Woo tell us she was off screen doing something? Was Kat Dennings just unavailable or something to finish her role properly?

This really bugged me and I guess in the grand scheme of things it’s minor, but from a general storytelling perspective, it just felt like something that should have been wrapped up.

That's gotta be what happened. They probably just lost her during Covid delays or something.

That's fine, I've long since waited for them to join the MCU as long as it isn't the previous cast.

Perfectly fine. Some good character beats. It did what I feared though, which is basically end as a bunch of set-up, rather than pushing any form of conclusion. Monica just displayed powers and it basically isn’t addressed. WhiteVision just poofs away, Darcy disappeared, etc. Wanda got a sequel bait, although I’m now disappointed she’ll be second fiddle to strange. She really deserves her own film at this point.

Still, it was certainly good. Maybe even great. It was lovely getting to actually spend time with Vision and Wanda. The MCU needs more projects like this, where the characters are allowed to be explored more in depth before the cgi slug fest. So I’m happy overall.

And I had no idea what was going on with her kids voices.

The other thing I didn't get was what happened to Agnes/Agatha?. Is she still in Westview walking around as her 50s character while everyone else is back to normal? Or where is she?

Still was happy with the finale overall.
[Show spoiler]Yeah, that's the one weakness of the finale for me because the real Vision did get restored, but then he completely disappears and there's no mention of him again, not even a post-credits scene. I can't imagine why he wouldn't return to Wanda. And Wanda doesn't even know about his condition because the Hex Vision never explained to her his encounter. The only thing I can think of is that if Vision was reunited with Wanda, that would alter her role for Doctor Strange 2 and she needs to be alone for that, but they should have contrived some reason for why Vision can't be with Wanda.

My guess with the kids is that since we never see them disappear, another entity, like Nightmare who is apparently the villain for Doctor Strange 2, might have snatched them. And Wanda's role in Doctor Strange 2 involves her trying to reclaim her children from his dimension since he's probably powerful enough to sustain them on his own.

Yes, Agatha is stuck in her Agnes persona so while the rest of the town is restored back to normal, you'll still have Agnes walking around like nothing changed.

[Show spoiler]Vision has some things he needs to work out on his own. This is going to setup Vision Quest.

[Show spoiler]I'm curious then what project will feature him then. Heard some people speculate Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 because of Hank Pym.

Maybe Vision will get his own spin-off series, so we can go down his emotional journey like we did with Wanda for this show. His constant questioning in the finale about who he really is and what he is, seemed like it was setting up a quest for his identity. At the same time, if this show does get a season 2, since the first season primarily focused on Wanda, season 2 could focus on Vision instead.

[Show spoiler]I would think we would probably see him in a credit scene in Doctor Strange 2, from there who knows. A second season with Vision could be interesting.

That makes sense, there's no way he wouldn't be mentioned in
[Show spoiler]Doctor Strange 2 considering it involves Wanda and probably the kids. I still think it's odd that he just disappeared though.

My guess is
[Show spoiler]we might see Vision next in Armor Wars. Since that's all about Stark tech getting into the wrong hands. I can see him stepping into that story with Don Cheadle. Could also be the next time we see S.W.O.R.D., too.

I forgot about
[Show spoiler]Armor Wars. It would make a lot of sense to include him there considering this show was about weaponizing him.

I liked it. Definitely had its flaws, but I think it told a really beautiful story about grief and loss and the lengths people will go to in order to have a happy ending. As someone who struggles a lot with depression and such, I know that my choices don't always make the most sense to others, but to me they're always justified. I sympathize more than most when it comes to people doing not-so-savory things.

I definitely think a lot of the loose ends will be tied up eventually. If this was the 4th or 5th release in Phase 4, as was intended originally, I wonder if we'd be looking at it any differently. I honestly can't remember- how widely known is the Hex? I know it happened over the course of a week or so, and obviously got military attention, but was it or its cause ever televised? I'm sure word will get out eventually, but beyond residents of the town, who else knows it was Wanda? Didn't Hayward mention that there were no copies of Wanda's broadcast? Or was that just BS?

Vision's gotta come back at some point. I'm sure we'll find out about Monica's contact eventually. I'm not worried about all those just yet. I got a pretty darn well-made story about grief and loss in a superhero universe, something I thought I'd never see. Made me feel seen in a strange way. I certainly don't fault anyone for their opinion, and I don't even necessarily disagree with some of the points, but I'm glad we got it. I hope it ends up getting some awards recognition.
