The important thing with two subwoofer is to make sure that the level of each subwoofer at your main listening area is approximately the same. Audyssey cannot do that. You need to adjust the level of each subwoofer by ear or with the help of an SPL meter. Ears are not always reliable.

Hey BD. I've been reading up on bass management and guides to subs 1 and 2 and there's something I don't understand..when you say to run at 1/3 octave then to average them??..what exactly does that mean..is that in the test tone downloads from the ones you listed or is it something else...sometimes I think I get it then start to doubt that I know what to do.

What is the woofer surround is made of on the AA subs? Is it butyl rubber or polyfoam? I am still thinking about a potential purchase. Thanks.

Even if the gains are exactly the same, they interact differently with the room boundaries and furniture, depending on their location. It is not unusual for one sub to become louder than the other.

Yes, you have to download the test tones and burn them to a CD/DVD. Read Understanding & Using Test Tones. It has a sticky in Audio Theory.

The drivers on the AA HD drivers are made of fiberglass woven cone woofer with rubber surround. They are white and quite attractive. I have no other information on the type of rubber they use. You can call them and ask them. I doubt it if the person at the other end would know.

The AA RW drivers have Poly Zirconium cones.

The AA PSW drivers have high rigidity PVA treated cones.

They are out of stock on the Black HD-SUB10 and HD-SUB12 subwoofers. However, they are still available in Cherry and Maple. The black models will probably become available in a few weeks.

I blame you guys for buying them too rapidly.

In their store, there are no black HD-SUB10 and HD-SUB12. It is possible that those are the last three they are selling on Ebay.

My bad. They did have 6 black HD-SUB10's available when I bought mine on Wednesday. I set it up tonight and watched my new Spinal Tap bd. It rocked. I'm surprised the concert scenes didn't wake up my son who was sleeping upstairs.

I knew you were partially to blame for the temporary shortage of black models.

very well thank you. I'm using the RealTraps Test Tone CD and a digital SPL meter. Having said that, it still sounds way better than my previous set up.

Big Daddy,

Thanks for the info. I have a pair of 1981 vintage ADS L810 speakers that are still in use because the rubber surrounds did not rot after all these years.
