Maybe they just took the product down to change the price, since $40.99 is what they're asking for the regular 4K release, and probably want to ask $50.99 for the Steelbook or something ridiculous like that.

On WowHD the standard 4K is $37.80, no tax and free shipping. Cheaper than it will be anywhere in Canada on release day (unless Walmart is still selling Disney 4Ks for $29.99). And it won't have French on the cover, if you care about that.

I went into the store today and they seem to have new old stock of SteelBook releases mostly going for $9.99.

Picked up Ghost in the Shell, Arrival, Saving Private Ryan, Indiana Jones, World War Z, Spongebob, and War of the Worlds! Less than $10 apiece. There were at least 40 copies of Spongebob at my local BB!

Weird that King Kong 4k is coming out here so long after the US release - bought it in the state's last year - hopefully it's a trend where we get more of those past releases that never made it up here

Was in Best Buy yesterday picking up the Jaws Steelbook and I saw the Friday the 13th Part 2 steelbook on the floor. Went to purchase it but there was, not surprisingly, a problem ringing it in. They couldn't sell it to me because it hadn't been released yet (although someone mistakenly put it on the sales floor). The manager kindly gave me 10% off my other purchase.

Yep, same thing here. I only ordered this in Canada with a few of the steelbook sale items they've put up recently, just to get free shipping. Am I wrong, or did the shipping charge for under $35 increase to, I believe, $13?!

Anyway, looks like trying to "buy Canadian" was only a blip on my radar once again. Thankfully, our $ isn't that bad vs the US $. Of course it could be higher, but about a year ago (CV-19 lockdown and the usual exchange fees), I remember only getting about 69 to 71 cents for every $. I'm happy we've hit 80 cents, but if this country doesn't fully open relatively soon, this "ride" won't last very long.

Went into the Northland Village Mall location here in Calgary today.

Frack! They're rebuilding/renovating the inside. I liked the old layout better. Can't stand the new store layouts. Looks like there's going to be construction in the parking lot as well, painted survey lines everywhere. And the Walmart at the other end of the mall is being turned into a Super Walmart. Lots of construction there. Something is also going on in the old Future Shop location.

It's too early to tell.

I want to say yes but Best Buy has been horrible with steelbook/metal pack releases for a while now.

If you are able to secure a preorder while you wait to see what Best Buy Canada has, that would be a better idea.
