A fantastic modern western, but the ending kind of falls short.

Avatar in 3D IMAX. Technically incredible but the unoriginal story and cliche characters bring it down. 3/5.

The Book of Eli - What can I say....Another Denzel classic! Loved the film. I already made a thread with my thoughts so Ill just give the rating! 4.5/5 Got Em!!

Moon - I was really excited to watch this because of all the hype it got. I have to say, it really exceeded my expectations. The plot was executed perfectly and had me hooked throughout. Easily one of the most unique films I've ever seen.

S.W.A.T. - This is a good cop action film that has good replay value. Ive seen this a few times before and I like this film. It has a very nice cast and a pretty good modern update to the tv show! Overall I would say its a 3.5/5 Got Em!!

It's Alive. First time I've seen this in at least a decade. While the special effects aren't very, the story and most of the acting make this one worth watching. 3/5

Casino Royale. Craig delivers all as the Bond that should've been in the first place.

No, Casino Royale isn't perfect, but it's pretty close to the other remakes than any other ones.

3:10 to Yuma was a very good film, I felt that it was well acted with excellent sound. 4.5/5

Two days ago I watched The Prestige... and I think that it might be one of my favorite movies of all time. 5/5

Doubt

Movie: 8/10

This film is unique in that watching it will tell you more about yourself than about the film. 2 people could watch it and see 2 completely different films, based on their experience/culture/etc. It continuously shows you facts, to make you make conclusions ,but then throws you curve balls. An ambigious movie that I love because its real, because life is ambigious.

PQ: 9/10 (excellent detail/color/etc....you're right there in the New York winter! briliant PQ)

AQ: 8.5/10 (also very good, clear dialogue, the wind - a key part of the story, is very clear and audible)

El Norte

Movie: 10/10

Gripping film about immigrants traveling north through Guatemala, through Mexico, into the US. What is driving them out of their country so they have to leave? How are they going to travel to the US? What if they get caught? What if they get robbed? ONce they get to the US, what then? An incredible sweeping film that covers so much material but does so with perfection. This film could truly change ones perspective on the issue of immigrants entering the US. Cinematography/direction were impeccable, showing detailed shots of sunsets, trees waving in the breeze, and imagery to die for. Worth a rent.

PQ: 4/5 (I assume it cant look much better than this, but there were times when it was inconsistent)

AQ: 4/5 (again, very clear dialogue and music, but it may have room for improvement)

World's Greatest Dad - 9.5 / 10
- Some weird and quriky moments to the film but the ending just makes it. The kind of ending that is satisfying and leaves you with a smile on your face, happy that you watched the movie.

Donkey Punch - 8 / 10
- Good movie out of Britain. When I read the synopsis about a group of girls meeting guys on vacation then fighting for their lives, I thought just another teen slasher pic, but it is totally different and not what I was expecting. Original!
