Getting really close of buying Totem just learned today that the Dynaudio supplier has no X12 nor X16 in stock for me to audition. The Dynaudio dealer better be ready to fold himself in 4 to make me auditon the X12 or X16 if I like the X32 cause coming back from my Totem dealer, been talking seriously now as I wanted a refresh on how they sounded, they are ready to give me 200$ off the pair and 200$ off the center and I don't need to buy all at once as they know I would buy again from them.

Off to Dynaudio dealer tomorrow and if it's going to take a month before I can hear the X12, well to bad they might have lost a sell. Unfortunately.

I can say with a great fact of certainty now that the Staff and Rainmaker sound appeals evenmore to me than the Dali Ikon 5.

Dynaudio here I come, Steve I know I was concern about the service and all that waiting time if ever there is problem if I need a part for my Dyns speakers, also the dealer is much further and Totem I can just go strait to factory to get whatever I need .

When I reach the 16 000$ for speaker range I guess I'll be as patient as Rhett

well id say compare the x32s to the sttafs and the hawks and have them put the x32s on something more then the CA Azur 650, in talking with rhetts dealer, the x32s have more bass output but are ortherwise equal

Hey BigAl,

Kindly post your thoughts on the X32s if you audition them tomorrow. I know that you will definitely be in for a treat!

I understand that enjoyed your audition with the Totems today. Since you really have a hard time containing yourself and your wallet, you mat just want to buy the Totems. There's no better cure than instant gratification, right? Besides, there are too many Dyn owners here already anyhow

HINT: I am giving you reverse psychology!

Will be on Moon IA bud, and know I dont want to do this as the damn Raimaker as almost as much botom end as the Staff but not true to X12 vs X32. Could compare to the Hawk but the Hawk is not what I seek for in sound altho the speaker comes together extremly nicely.

Sure can compare tower to tower but I want Bookshelf to bookshelf comparaison.

Do you get my point, I want to hear the X12 as this what I am targeting.

You cannot possibly compare I tell you if you heard the Rainmaker next to the Sttaf and you have a really hard time telling me which one sounds bigger. Now Iknow the Focus 110 extends at 45 hz and sound really big as Rhett like to report but My price point now is the X12 extending at 50hz +/-3db in typical room and seriously it seems to be hell to get some Dyns out here.

Now again Frequency response does not tell all as the 2600$ Model also extends at 50hz which is precisely why I want to hear the X12 to make sure they sound bigger than their size would let you believe.

Man what the hell is that I want to hear a speaker but not even the supplier has one in stock. Sometimes I wish I lived in California but hell there is always pros and cons to everything in life.

I wish I could hear the damn thing at this price point I mean it's not like it's a 15 000$ speaker. The biggest issue with the only Dyn dealer in Montreal is it's a small store selling second hand gear also, so when you walk in this store it like mountain of speaker so they hold what is subject to sell the most and now they have X32 and before they had the Audience 72se. They sure can have what ever Dyn you want but the thing if you cant even demo them what's the purpose of advertising that you are a Dynaudio dealer.

I'm just mad at this cause I had great hopes of beeing able to compare apples with apples if you see what I mean.

I'm sorry to hear that! Well if you go with something else because of their inability to have you audition the speaker you want, then it's their loss!

Just go there and listen to the X32s and if you like what you hear, tell the dealer to give you a damn good deal on the x12s because they can't provide a proper demo for you and state that you are putting your money on the line because you are buying blind/deaf...

That is a smart move, you think I can pull of like 800$ a pair?

I'm sure it will be hell to get the center as well.

One other concern at the pace they sell Dyns I would not be surprised if they drop Dynaudio down the line, what would that leave me with after that without a center and surrounds?

I mean not that long ago they had Dalis now they drop Dalis so It's 2 dealers that drop another Danish Lodspeaker maker, so man I'm not very inspired.

You worry too much! Must I think of everything for you?! Seeeshhh!!

A dealer from a different region may be able to sell to you. If Push comes to shove, I can probably help you out. But we'll cross that bridge when you get there. Let's find out if the Dynaudio sound suits you first.

If it were so simple, you have Bose by now from future shop. Lol!

Sometimes, you just have to wait. Do you know that it took me 1.5 years to audition and wait before I settled on my 1st Dynaudios? And I always believe that if it's meant to be then it will happen. So just let things unravel and don't jump the gun do quickly.

Why not buy me a plane ticket and I'll join you for your audition tomorrow? I always wanted to hit them gentlemen's club on st Catherine st.

Patience is a virtue but I'm affraid I'll spend the money elsewhere if I don't buy soon like on Ste-Catherine street.

the sttafs and the excite X16 are very similar, slightly different tone, but detail, seperation, imaging is similar. I think the excites give you a little more texture to the bottom end, not really more slam, but a tighter and more textured sound. I really liked both, even the Amphions, It will just come down to what you really want, and what you like the sound of the most.
