This is likely to be censored due to the BBFC's damn fool regulations on animal cruelty (its always been cut by 28 seconds in the UK). Deep Red is also listed for UK blu release and I'm pretty sure that'll be cut for the same reason.

Inferno is cut because the mouse being chewed on would have been offered or made available to the cat. Meanwhile the BBFC deemed that a man eating a live octopus in Oldboy was actually perfectly acceptable. Hmmm.

btw Inferno on a UK bd, if it's not uncut, don't even bother releasing. Waste of everybody's time. Same goes for Deep Red. Stupid to even contemplate releasing HD versions of those two films in the UK.

I might buy it cheap as a tide-me-over until a proper uncut version is released. But I am not impressed, it was almost certain that Inferno would still be censored by the BBFC, and I feel that Arrow should have used common sense and chosen another film by the director. Opera perhaps??

Believe me, the BBFC would dearly love not to have to do this - I once had to liaise with them over a potentially problematic scene, and their relief when the producer could prove that the animal cruelty was faked was entirely genuine.
Michael, the "1937 Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act" only applies to films intended for screening in public cinemas. It does not cover video works intended for home viewing.

Rather inexpicably, however, the BBFC have simply chosen to apply the above legislation to home video works, even when they are under no legal obligation to do so.

The BBFC freely admit to this bizarre policy btw; in the section titled "Legal Considerations", on page seven of their classification guidebook (page nine of the pdf document), you can read the following :

"The Cinematograph Films
(Animals) Act 1937
It is illegal to show any scene
‘organised or directed’ for the
purposes of the film that involves
actual cruelty to animals. This Act
applies to the exhibition of films
in public cinemas but the BBFC also
applies the same test to video works.
For the purposes of this legislation
and The Animal Welfare Act 2006, only
vertebrates which are domesticated
or otherwise under the control of man are defined as ‘animals’."

So yes, please do feel free to blame the BBFC (and the BBFC alone) for all those "home video works" they've needlessly butchered over the last two and a half decades.

Total result

Just shows how far the BBFC have moved on in recent times...over zealous censorship never works.

United Kingdom Dario Argento's Inferno is now available on Blu-ray

Inferno comes out on September 13 in the UK from Arrow. This is the first review of it and states it is region-free, so it should be okay for Americans to import it. The review is very positive about the quality of the Blu-ray.

Arrow is bringing us-Cat o'Nine Tails, Phenomena and Tenebre. Hoping that we get BD of Deep Red and a region A or Free BD for Suspiria.
I hope Arrow keeps doing the cool box art.

I just watched the Arrow release. It's perfectly servicable in terms of PQ and AQ.

It's my first time watching the movie. Too bad I didn't really like it very much. :-/

Did you try it in Italian? I really love this movie but the English dub is one of the worst. It changes the tone to the point of becoming a parody. In Italian the film turns into what it's meant to be.

Has anyone seen or have insight into the Japanese Happinet or Portuguese 1Films releases?

Are they better than the US release or very different?
