You guys have any advice for how to sell some PC parts on eBay? I'm thinking about selling some of my fans I don't know how to start.

the Corsair H80 has a fan controller, huh? I wonder if there are any big difference between the models.

I can't go to straight heavy water cooling because they take a lot of work and I'm disabled, I can't move around a lot at the moment.
Yeah, you don't have to do everything at once. Build it slowly starting with the BD drive.

I'm always going back and forth between Newegg and Amazon trying to get the best price possible.

Canadians can't use Amazon in most cases, which is why I stuck with Newegg.

Also, check MicroCenter, TigerDirect and Superbiiz.com. Unfortunately I have stores nearby for the first two, so tax is a factor. Overall though, those 3 are pretty close in price (vs. NewEgg). One advantage Superbiiz has over the others is consistent coupon codes for x amount of $ off. Pretty much one per week-to-two-weeks basis.

Oh and I returned my Corsair H80. I think I'll wait until the next version comes out. I went back to air-cooling. Bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo from oddly enough Amazon who had it for the same amount NewEgg did. It was almost $60 cheaper than the Corsair (for only a few degrees in temperature difference from reviews) so more money back into my pocket.

Did you not like the H80?

Did you return the Corsair H80 because of cost or performance? I'm asking because I was contemplating the H80 for my next build.

lol. With your cpu, stick with the H80.

I never used the H80. It was sitting on my desk along with everything else while I was waiting for the Asus Gen3 motherboards to come out. And when they did a few days ago, it's the exact same board compared to the one I eventually bought...except for having pci-express 3.0 slots. Not worth the $40 in price increase. I bought the P8Z68-V instead.

So during my wait, I took apart my old Socket 478 setup and cleaned the cpu/added new thermal paste. I forgot I had a Thermalright heatsink on there, which alone weighs about 2lbs.! I don't remember the model # nor is it on their website anymore, but this thing is a beast.

Anyway, that made me look at air cooling again, which I have literally ignored since having my H70 last year. There are a few new and nice cheap heatsinks that I read about, so it saved me around $60. I don't overclock, so I decided to go with the 212 Evo. The H80 still provides the best all-around cooling performance from all the reviews I've read though (also during overclocking).

hehe. Okay, just making sure

I received all my parts except my video cards and PSU... Sucks having to look at all the parts and can't put it together. I don't want to start half now and half later. All at once or nothing.

Have you picked a monitor yet or do you already have one? I've got everything except a monitor and a CPU cooler.

That's how I was for a while. I was going crazy.

Here's a video I took of how fast it boots and shuts down. I have the monitor running to my Denon receiver (there's always around an 15-second delay at start-up), but then notice how quickly the bios screen appears, then disappears. It can be a pain if you don't time it right to get into the bios. And I'm really loving the UEFI bios design. Very easy to work with.

Mine boots just as fast, but I can't get that ASUS logo to show up when it boots. Not to mention the BIOS is now shown in full screen but that's probably my monitor's fault, I have a CRT currently. Have you experiences these issues Mullet?

Nope it's full screen for me. There are options in the bios to not show logos, etc. when booting, but I highly doubt you disabled those.

Are you riding the crt into the ground, or would you like me to find you a cheap lcd?

Ok. How do you ground a CRT?

Actually I already picked one but I want to wait until the holidays and see if it goes on sale.

I meant using it until it goes out. I had a couple either fizzle out or get extremely distorted over time. And I forgot the following so please refresh me: What video card do you have? Do you have the monitor running straight from the card or the card-receiver-monitor setup? The Dells are nice, yet over-priced.

I don't have a graphics card yet. It's connected straight to the motherboard VGA.

That Dell monitor is IPS which is the reason it's expensive. Blindsay recommended it to me. What other brands offer good monitors?

Yup. I picked up 2 24 in Dell IPS

Beautiful, beautiful screens. Very Pricey but worth it if you do any kind of graphic art / photography. I picked them up when they were on sale for 380$ each

I have the H80 for a CPU cooler.

If your going to buy a monitor I recommend going with an Ultra HD monitor. Cant remember what the full resolution is but something along the lines of 2560x1600 think is called Max Digital

I wanted something large, but not wanting to pay $$$ for a 30" pc monitor, so I bought a LG 32" 32LD350 tv last year. It has an IPS panel (there are other variations of my model that use lesser panels...all can be found by the barcode...I found that out in another forum), which to my knowledge is one of the few lcd tv's to support 4:4:4 pixel format and has low input lag for gaming.

I haven't looked at pc monitors in a while, but what to look for is what type of panel and the response time of it. Usually IPS (or greater) panels have a 178 degree viewing angle. Even some lcd tv's have IPS panels and are suitable (also less expensive than actual monitors) for pc use.
