Yeah it's pretty much all just nice depth which to be honest is enough for me.

Picked this up "like new" used copy for super cheap as I have never seen the film. 3D was ok, nothing to brag about and it could have been much better. But, it was still a fun popcorn movie.

Wildly varying reports of the 3D on this one. Some say it’s great, some say it’s extremely meh. Whom to believe…

A fun romp. Very good native 3D.

Or, for another opinion, pretty disappointingly unadventurous 3D, I thought. Beautiful 3D design throughout the film, but too much restraint with their stereo rig to really capture it. It's maybe quite telling when the director's commentary track makes no reference whatsoever to the 3D, especially when he was working with a 3D camera crew. As ever though, the best bet is to go by your own opinion; it's the only one that really matters.

I like Paul WS Anderson's native 3D movies as a guilty pleasure. RE: Afterlife is the best of the bunch. Sam is right, they have great 3D design. But as with most modern 3D, the stereo base is a little on the conservative side. They'd be better if they were shot with wider interaxials. Still worth it though.

I watched this today. The 3D is nice, sometimes very nice, but in answer to the question below:

It does have one great pop out scene but I think @Telegram Sam nails it.

As for the movie, it is one of the silliest, dumbest, most ridiculous movies I have ever seen, and I loved every minute of it It's clearly a Paul W.S. Anderson movie, but the fight scenes in this movie are better choreographed and staged. It has a decent cast with Bloom, Mikkelsen and Waltz "gently" chewing the scenery and even Jovovich was a pleasant surprise.

I know Monster Hunter is a conversion but if it had a similar quality of 3D design then I would not have been so disappointed. This is a fun dumb 3D movie and I'm glad I have it in my collection

For me the highlights were the two dueling sequences especially the final one with Mikkelsen.

Mik & Waltz had fun, scenery-chewing scenes? I can't help but think of them as their dour, lame Bond roles, so it would be nice to see them in better roles.

Also, Orlando Bloom wasn't in Pirates IV but still did a swashbuckler that year?

So this doesn't have T4Crowns-ish perpetual popout of swords? I'm not saying that I need it, but I thought it was a law of 3D that whenever a sword is out of its scabbard it is also out of the screen?

I described it as "gently" chewing the scenery. They don't stomp about, shout and break things. Maybe a better description of them is that they are dicks!

I think maybe there are a couple of brief sword pop out scenes but the best 3D moments are mostly in the final battle which also includes the best pop out.

There were times when watching the 3 Musketeers I was reminded of Resident Evil. I enjoyed the RE collection but the hand to hand fight scenes were edited to oblivion. Here, the fight scenes were well choreographed with no unnecessary quick cuts.
