If they dropped the price down to around $50 I would buy two of them.

I really like this set, but the price is way too much for me to pay. I only have one Harry Potter on BD and have been waiting for something like this that's loaded with special features. At this point, I'm not sure what I should do. What do you all think is a realistic price for this? I'm hoping for a better price around the holidays, maybe around $150-$200. Honesty, I think my price point is still a little high, but I would pay it just so I can have the extras. I don't expect it to sell well, so waiting for a major price drop seems like the best option.

Just wait for a sale on the Ultimate editions. Granted the last 2 haven't been released yet, but every now and then you can find them for $25 or less

I picked up the UK 8 film set for about $52 USD shipped. That's good enough for me!

Well, it's high for me because DVDs are obsolete and the props serve no purpose other than sitting in the box and on the shelf. The only selling point is if you have none of the BDs, including the Ultimate Editions. The documentaries on the Ultimate Editions are repackaged in the Wizards Collection, but it has the last two parts that would presumably come with the Ultimate Editions for DH1 and DH2. If you have the Ultimate Editions, there's no reason to buy this set. I have seen the documentaries and they are boring to me, so I'm not missing anything by not getting it. I have the 8-film collection from the UK and it was less than $60 shipped. I'm satisfied with that.

Also, while the Wizards Collection set itself looks to be of high quality, there's no way to be sure when the cast members who looked at it were likely paid for their work and cannot give negative views. Are the drawers cardboard? Are the knobs cardboard? Are the drawers pressed sawdust? If this set was wooden, where it felt like a trunk, I would say it would be worth maybe $250. The DVDs are a buzz kill, and while some hate Ultraviolet digital copies, I'd love to have them since I use the Cloud now with my Nexus 7.

The simple answer is this: is it worth it to you? Do you think it's wroth buying for $350 given what we know about it, including the DVDs, digital copies, props, and bonus features?

Edit: You also want to think about shelf space. Where are you going to put this thing? It's not going to fit on my book shelf anywhere. There are no amaray cases to put the discs in, from what I can tell. They appear to be in little square envelopes. I have no space anywhere in my room for it. I don't even have an adequate location for my Sopranos and The Shield boxed sets.

This is what I ultimately came down to as well. I only own the last two films on blu-ray (the whole series on DVD) so this box is attractive to me in that respect, especially since the UE are still pretty pricey. But $350 is way too much. I hoping that one day this will come down to $200-250 and then I will bite.

If WB really wanted to sell these, they'd have limited them to 10k instead of 60k.

The problem and question that continues to stump all of us on the UE forum is when will the last 2 UE's come out?? I don't care about the Wizard's Collection, WB needs to finish what they started, which was having the last 2 UE's available. They are already losing a profit from this collection already because people aren't buying it, it's way too expensive and that box, that thing is HUGE!! A normal consumer would be intimidated by this! Just give me the last 2 UE's and I'm set!!

Yea, I've been thinking about going with the Ultimate Editions instead of the Wizards Collection. I've been watching their prices drop several times over the past few months and they are quite reasonable. They include everything I want and have nice packaging, which I'm a sucker for most of the time. At least if I buy them I won't have to spend so much all at once. As far as the last two go, I'm not at all concerned that they will get a release eventually. Warner is surely going to wait until the Wizards Collection has been collecting dust on store shelves before they promote them. Then again, maybe we will get lucky and they will get a release around the same time as the WC.

I don't want all that stuff. I just want a set with just the UE movies.

WBshop.com has the 8 film collection for $69.99 right now. It is $114.99 on Amazon right now. I might just go with that.

You won't get the bonus discs for HBP, DH1 and DH2. Those have some good extras, especially HBP, where you get the hour long interview with Rowling about writing the last book. DH2 has the interview between Rowling and Radcliffe.

Import this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harry-Potter...dp/B00543RC0Y/

If these were really limited items, 10k would be better than 63k. Hell, the Beedle the Bard collector's edition was out of 100k and it's not worth anything now, sealed.

That "greatest hits" feature sounds horrible. It's like the sitcoms that greatest hits episodes.

That feature really is quite good. It has interviews with people and even JK rowling, they talk about the scene. They do not just show the clips with some ranking number at the bottom. You can see the old feature (which didn't include DH2) on youtube. The new one will include DH2 and new interviews.
