Waiting for it to air on TV so I can watch on the bigger screen and surround sound.

For anyone else who caught it though, thoughts?

I watched 90% of it on the ipad Friday night. I really enjoyed it. Want to see more before I decide on how good the rest of the show will be. I think it definitely has a more OT vibe to it and that part alone made it fun to watch. Not digging ezra a lot yet but its still too early. Kanan and his crew seems likeable. Definitely looking forward to more episodes next month.

Yeah, I just watched it online as well. After being a big fan of "The Clone Wars" I wasn't sure if Rebels could peak my interest off the bat. Well I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm really looking forward to the rest of Season 1. I really do hope it catches on with Star Wars fans.

Seen all four of these little shorts, not overly impressed. My main question is why they stopped the Clone Wars series to make this when visually there isn't much difference.

In fact at the moment this new Rebels series visually looks worse!

I also don't really like the use of yet another Mandalorian armour suit for a main character (plus its pink!). That cool angle has been well and truly milked dry methinks.

The main young lad character is far too much like a young Solo wannabe.

Good to know - you must have gotten an early copy of this, since I read that the street date is 10/14/2014.

In any case, looking forward to seeing this. Huge SW fan from way back, but couldn't really get into The Clone Wars cartoon because I didn't like the animation or the time-period. However, Rebels is taking place between Episodes III & IV (ANH), so it should prove interesting...

Default Show Renewed for Season 2

Well this is interesting:

Quote:
STAR WARS REBELS Renewed For Season 2 Ahead of Tomorrow’s Premiere

Disney XD is really digging into Star Wars Rebels and have officially renewed the series just a little over 24 hours before it premieres tomorrow night with its kick-off movie Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion on the Disney Channel (not XD) at 9PM. I imagine this development has pretty much been on the table all along and was (wisely) timed as a boost to tomorrow’s launch. Not a bad play.

Star Wars Rebels, the series as we will come to know it, premieres on Disney XD October 13th and features the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo, Jason Isaacs, Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, and Tiya Sircar.

Lucasfilm VP of Creative Development Kiri Hart commented on the renewal:
“We all love making ‘Rebels,’ so we couldn’t be happier that it’s moving into a second season. Our fantastic creative team is dreaming up new stories for the crew of the Ghost that will expand their experience of the galaxy and deepen their heroes’ journeys. The fan response to the show has been amazing, humbling and inspiring. We’re looking forward to the adventure ahead.”

Great news!

I loved the pilot movie/first episode. It has a really OT vibe. I'm looking forward to seeing where it'll go from here. I hope this lasts five or six seasons like The Clone Wars did.

I watched a streaming copy of the pilot episode and I have to say that I actually enjoyed it. My only complaint is aimed at the animation direction for hiring morons to design the Wookies. Who the hell was responsible for their design? It has dreadful, and they all sound like Chewbacca when they spoke Wookie.

Can't wait to see more of this series.

Star Wars Rebels has already been renewed for a second season by Disney, and they have renewed the second season from Lucasfilm.
