Actually I messaged Shout Factory and they replied to me that they had no plans of doing Uncommon Valor

What great timing we had in discussing this because Paramount themselves just announced a blu of Uncommon Valor for September!

Strange. I was literally thinking of this film and watching it this weekend after Extreme Prejudice and Fred Ward passes. One of the very best and loved him in this film and many others.

I visited my family last week and at dinner I was talking to my stepdad about The Right Stuff, which I finally bought based on the strength of the cast...especially Ward.

He sent me a link the following day about Ward's death, which bowled me over.

This guy made everything he was in better. I first noticed him in Escape from Alcatraz and became a huge fan with Southern Comfort, which still might be his best role.

Ok here's an interesting story. I saw this in 82 in a movie theater in Tehran, Iran by skipping school cause the lobby cards looked so cool outside the Cinema. It was just 3 years after the revolution and the Iranian government changed the Farsi dub of the film to change the narrative. The movie I saw was the same but the translation was that these were soldiers that had refused to fight in the Vietnam was some decade ago and were mandated to go to this swamp to train but the US government secretly killed them all for refusing to go to war. They didn't show the opening scene when they were are all firing blanks so I thought they fired real shots at the Cajuns.
At the end of the movie when the remining 2 soldiers see the chopper and the jeep, right when the movie stops, you heard 2 loud gun shots suggesting that both were killed.
