2. A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD - It has a couple of good action scenes (and a pretty lady) so there are probably worse movies. But given how great the first three were, there weren't many that left me in more despair about the state of Hollywood.
3. BULA QUO - The two old guys from Status Quo in an "action" "comedy". How this got funded is one of the great mysteries of life.
4. RUN FOR YOUR WIFE - I haven't even seen this and it made number Four. That's how bad this movie is.
5. HANSEL AND GRETEL WITCH HUNTERS - Another loathsome example of this horrible sub-genre that takes fairy tales/ historical figures/ characters from classic literature and makes them all cool and steampunky and 'splody and shit. Please stop. These are to cinema what Gerber's baby food is to Haute Cuisine.
6. EVIL DEAD - And another pointless remake that either shows no understanding on the film-makers' part of what made the original great or rejects it for the sake of making it feel different. The first was funny, outrageous, scary. This one is just grimey, nasty and stupid. (See also CARRIE)
7. WHITE HOUSE DOWN - Quite an achievement to make OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN look like a class-act.
8. MOVIE 43 - Shamefully, I actually laughed a couple of times in the first twenty minutes and thought maybe it wasn't so bad. And then, inexplicably, I just couldn't go on watching it. There's just something inherently squalid in the very DNA of the movie that makes you feel dirty.
9. INSIDIOUS 2 - The first film was a surprisingly effective old-school horror movie. But after the hugely-disappointing THE CONJURING, I'm afraid this was "Wan" bag of recycled tricks and idiotic contrivances too many.
10. THE WORLD'S END - Yes, a minority view and obviously I couldn't really argue that this was worse than THE INTERNSHIP or THE HEAT. All I can say is that I thought it was a horribly lazy, complacent, lacklustre movie that sacrificed any kind of truthfulness for gags that I didn't find at all funny. So it's here on the basis of ability squandered.
11. LES MISERABLES - I don't think this is a good film but it's not a terrible one either. I'll just add it on the basis that I can't stand the music. And if you can't stand the music in a musical, they're pretty much torture to watch.
Les Miserables is a 2012 movie

Yes, apologies - I saw it early January and I thought it had only recently opened. So disregard that.

Too late to edit list?
Just saw Enders Game and that one has to go on the WORST films of the year list for me.

If you knew what Number 4 is, you'd be understanding.

I'm standing by it. I'm confident it deserves its place and I dare anyone to watch it and say I'm wrong.

Top 10 Worst (#1 is the worst of 2013):

1. Pacific Rim -- Please Hollywood, I beg you, stop trying to make Charlie Hunnam a star. He CANNOT act.
2. World War Z -- Slow Walking Dead zombies? Yes. Fast 28 Days Later zombies? Yes. A "waterfall" of CG zombies? Nope.
3. The Last Exorcism Part 2 -- Should make the list for just the title: it's the LAST exorcism... part TWO!!
4. Elysium -- The latest graduate of the Charlie Hunnam School of Acting, I give you: Jodie Foster in Elysium.
5. Monsters University -- Disney/Pixar, please take note: If you promise me Mike as a disco ball... you better GIVE ME Mike as a disco ball!
6. The Conjuring -- The clapping ghost didn't scare me in the trailers and it didn't scare me in the movie, either.
7. Mama -- It worked better as a trailer than as a movie.
8. Carrie -- See #7. Julianne Moore and Chloe Grace Moretz were sort of okay, though.
9. Man of Steel -- Not even Amy Adams could save it.
10. The Host -- The voice-overs are indefensible, but I tolerated this for Saoirse Ronan. Please pick better projects.

The deadline has now passed. Any new lists or changes will not be counted. There are many lists that will only count as 1 point each since they had less than 10 movies listed.
