It's funny how no one saw Legend of The Guardians but everyone can sit through Happy Feet or many of the other silly talking animal movies that come out. The Legend of The Guardians is quite dark with some really cool cgi and fight scenes. I know it sounds weird but these owl fight scenes are pretty good. And if you guys aren't going to watch the movie at least check out this awesome flying scene:

Its fine, nothing special but the 3D is excellent.

Of the films I've seen:

300 - 4/5 - Zach Snyder does well when he has brief source material. Otherwise, he seems to have problems creating a short film (2 hours or less) that makes sense.

Watchmen - 4/5 - But only the director's cut. The version that was shortened omits stuff that helps the movie make sense. I recommend the Blu-Ray extras where Snyder explains what he did and why.

Sucker Punch - 3.5/5 - But only the director's cut. See above.

Man of Steel - 3/5 - Meh

Batman v. Superman - 2/5 - This should have been two separate movies. Need the director's cut just to make sense.

I watched this movie for the first time last year and wasn't impressed with the story, but the visuals were fantastic. I've never read the book it's based on, so I have no clue how faithful it was to it.

The soundtrack is the best part. I disliked the theatrical cut, but the extended cut adds coherence. The story itself is pretty dark, and the action scenes (coupled with the soundtrack) make for an interesting, fun ride.

The first scene is really good and there is a great musical number in the D.C, but apart from that...m.e.s.s!

Sucker Punch is rubbish ( I loved the local critic in my area who said this movie should only be watched and discussed by Snyder and his psychiatrist...) but it does have the gorgeous and talented Abbie Cornish in it...on second thought, catch her in the terrific and underseen movie Somersault.

I listed my preferred cut for each movie above instead of breaking them apart, which would have ruffled up the rankings some.

It appears I like Snyder more than I would have thought when I look at this list. I even like what Sucker Punch was going for, I just really think his style failed his substance in that one.

Never seen Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
