I was thinking about this watching South Park. I would love to see future episodes of this show in 3D.

Are you crazy Tommyboy? Everyone likes the Matrix!
I hear, even though the story is over, they are sad it was never made in 3D, so a forth is on the way. |

I hated 2 when I saw it in cinemas. I was int drugs back in those days and that must have been the cause of my deluded senses... Now I think they get better and better! I watch the trilogy all the time, and agree a 3D conversion would be boss!

I would LOVE to see that. Probably a perfect show for 3D. They're going back to the original files to remaster them in HD and at some point in the future I can see them doing it for 3D. But yeah, it should definitely go 3D!!!

I'm not too crazy about 2D to 3D. For some reason it bothers my eyes, whereas I've never experienced irritation from real 3D content. But I must say that watching the latest turtles film (animated one) with the converter, was quite enjoyable!

I'm not quite sure how 2d->3d works or how the TV is smart enough to convert it (seems to be something similar to those old toy glasses that separated dark blues from bright oranges)--
But however it works, if you've ever been curious to see what the original "Willy Wonka" would look like in 3D, it survives TV-conversion better than most. ![]() (Ironically, I'd tried watching some of the 2D versions of 80's 3D titles converted, hoping that the low lighting, muddy prints and odd deep-camera focuses would translate to modern day conversion. But no, sadly, even 21st-century artifice did not help restore "Jaws 3-D" or "Metalstorm: the Destruction of Jared-Syn". ![]() |

Yeah, a conversion of the Matrix trilogy would be awesome! I'd love to see my other all time classic favorite series converted too- the Alien movies. And fingers crossed that Pixar gets on the bandwagon and sends us 3D versions of Wall-E, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. Apparently conversion of the Star Wars movies is in the works, that rounds out my wish list

There was an earlier discussion as to whether or not post production 3D was really worth it (Canada and someone who seemed to understand the details of how the conversion worked). While I'm sure there is a difference between movies shot in 3D and those converted (Avatar and Clash of the Titans being extreme examples....the latter 3D conversion being SO bad in the theatre that I don't have any interest in buying it), I'm not convinced 3D conversion can't be done well. I find it very, very hard to believe that someone like James Cameron is going to $#!^ where he drinks by doing a half @$$ed conversion of Titanic...probably ditto for George Lucas wrt Star Wars. Whether or not it's financially feasible is another matter.
Being lazy, I'm wondering if someone can point me in the proper direction to find out why the conversions may or may not work. In any case, it would appear to be a painstaking process. I've had more "training" in physics, biology, math, and so forth than I care to remember so I'm not really concerned about the technical details. If there's someone out there who understands the process, maybe you can save me from having to muck through a lot of BS. I could ask James Cameron, but don't think I could afford his hourly rate. |

I would love to see this movie in 3D Blu ray. I loved this movie on the big screen and even imported the UK Blu ray version when HD DVD held it hostage. I would easily add the 3D version to my collection.

If you had a say in what 2D Disney cartoon would be converted into 3D, what would it be? So far the 'House of the Mouse' have transformed 'Beauty and the Beast', 'The Lion King' and 'Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas'(to give it its full title) into 3D and I've been thinking of others that could stand the same sort of conversion.
So here's my two cents(or pennies as I live in the UK) worth. 'The Little Mermaid'(of course) and, 'Aladdin'. Both of them would make great 3D(as long as care was taken)--especially the magic carpet rides in the latter 'Aladdin'. And what about the climax of 'The Little Mermaid'? With all those ships being dragged up from the bottom. Now that would truly be awesome! ![]() Let me know what you guys think. |

I'd pay to take a Magic Carpet ride in 3D.
I'm actually fine with any of the 90's Disney flicks onward, where they can get the original producers/directors onboard for the conversion process as they've done with Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Earlier Disney stuff not intended for 3D should be hands off. I don't want them messing with Sleeping Beauty, for instance. |
