I do have a soft spot for these, so I'll keep my order in. I don't have that many box sets with the extras. I usually only buy them for the movies I really like. I have 2 Titanic Amazon box sets, the Batman 60's box with the Hot Wheels Batmobile, both Wizard of Oz box sets from '09/'13, The Dark Knight Batpod set, Gone With the Wind 75th, Ben Hur, Predator 3D Comic Con head, The Hunger Games Best Buy cube, Planet Earth globe, Schindler's List Definitive Edition with the postcards and poster, the Universal Monsters coffin set, and now the Jurassic World dinosaur set.

I have fun collecting these. I'm sure everyone collects something, whether it be BD box sets, Hot Wheels, or even cars!

I'd be amazed if these were polystone, or resin. My guess is they will be plastic like the previous trilogy set, only with weighted bases so they can function as bookends.
Of course I hope I'm very wrong about that.

Fascinating look at the making of the animatronic Apatosaurus by Legacy. It's interesting listening to spoiler interviews with the director post-release that he had to fight producers and the studio for animatronics in the film, including this scene.

I think that the film would have been more believable and immersive had there been more work done with animatronics. There really is no reason for the raptors in the cage and the legs of the Indominous to not be done in animatronic and featured in the final film.

There is no way those are polystone for that price. Probably some sort of resin, I'd guess.

Anyone else see this "Premier Pack"? Have they done this for any other movies?

Don't see a preorder for a 3D version of the Target exclusive... Hoping that there will be one. Maybe it will be like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 where the 3D exclusive version was only in-store.

So the BD release of this won't be till 12/15 right? A dino roars on people's surround sound system and scare Santa from coming down the chimney

Never seen that before - but that is kinda cool. I want the 3D version, though, so wouldn't work for me - but seems like a neat deal.

I finally caught this at a 3D IMAX theater and was blown away. It's not as magical as the first film, but I don't think any sequel would ever be able to match it because it introduced us to this world. But Jurassic World was visceral and I walked out with my heart racing. I don't go to the theater much, but I'm glad I saw this one. Now bring on the 3D BD!

Really only a good deal if you normally pay full price for movie tickets.

watched the original a couple nights ago and I have to admit, the CGI is good, but it really isn't as perfect as I remember. its hit and miss.

there are some scene with the T-rex where you can tell he stands out; he still looks good and everything, but the lighting is off.

JW is an improvement on that. I think the vivid colours that are so popular in movies today vs the realistic colours the original JP were going for made the real or fake difference to some of us. the lighting is better.

The Limited Edition Packaging may be the same as the "Collectible Round Tin" packaging listings Walmart.com has listed in addition to the exclusive with the lunch box.

Amazon sure loves dropping the price of that 3D version by one cent at a time, don't they?

Ugh, thanks for pointing that out so I know to watch for it.

I preordered the 3D from Amazon thinking it would be a steelbook - but if this is what it is...I'll cancel and just get the regular 3D version. No desire whatsoever for a round tin.

I still get irritated when I have my Batman '89 Soundtrack LE CD tin around - yes, it's kind of cool as a Batman collectable and it looks like a Batdisc, but it just collects dust and isn't easily stored.

I don't usually care about Steelbooks, either, but I have a couple and since this was priced like the regular version, I figured what the heck - I did love the film. But if it's not a Steelbook, I'll totally cancel.

Again - thanks for the tip! I probably wouldn't have watched closely otherwise and wouldn't have known it was a possibility.
