No, but if I did I'd clearly have to present it as a scenery-chewing character of some description.

Not to impune Mr Tax now that he's joined us, as I said I'm sure he's quite nice in person and one hopes that his posts won't be quite as, ah, energetic as his videos.
All I ask, and I do so as a man for whom it is exceedingly hard to offend, is that I should be able to get through reviews of movies like KING KONG without encountering references to a woman's "cooch", and the like.

No worries FM, you gave yourself an out so I'm not having a pop at you...but that doesn't change it from being true. Still, every country has their own perceptions of others that are seemingly ingrained into their culture, and given how most Brits abroad engender a rather different feeling (especially in several sun-kissed resort locations that belong to our European neighbours) then we should be flattered that we're still thought of as being such genteel folk in some quarters.

But now Brass Tax is out there on the World Wide Web, ready to go viral and destroy that global perception overnight...

looooooooool I hear you. The person I am on YT is me turned all the way up. I cant walk into a coffee shop, or in public for that matter, using the language or tone I do in these videos. The reason I started a channel was purely because noone else was talking about the 4k PQ of these movies. It irked me to no end. I also find most reviewers boring as hell. Youtube (to me) is primarily an entertainment platform. It can also educate and inform. Ive been obsessing over picture quality since VHS and took the opportunity to corner the 4k Bluray market on YT where I could be "entertaining" but also offer information. I totally understand that reviews are subjective and I welcome everyones opinions (positive or negative). Me being offensive wont change. There are a lot more 4k reviewers on YT now who are more "sophisticated" for peoples liking. The demographic for 4k sales has changed significantly since XBox One S has included a 4K drive..Its something I look at. Please dont tip toe around me. Be yourselves. I encourage it....Oh.. and "I'm in this *****! lol

Side Note: I review 4K Blurays on Samsung 65 js9500 and an LG OLED G6 (last years flagship. I use XBox One S, Samsung K850 and the Oppo Player.

There was a time where I would have the unboxings with the review. Upon further inspection, the analytics showed that viewers were skipping the unboxing and going straight to the review. Seperating them seemed viable as subscribers can pick and choose what they wish.

I would think that's the right choice myself, unboxing videos bore me, and obviously a lot of other people if they were just skipping it.

Well, you may be the poster child for "the method getting in the way of the message", but at least you've got a sense of humor about yourself and seem to have a solid grasp of the dying art of letting things roll off your back, which goes a long way with me. (*tips hat*)

It's not just boring, but useless for these type of releases.

Oh look, a shrinkwrapped 2-disc Viva Elite/Vortex Eco case with the same cover art you see everywhere. 2 discs with or without art. A UV Digital HD sheet. Subscribe to my channel!

Have to agree with BT, most reviews are boring or worse, inaccurate. Anyone with half a brain would realise that he is in 'character'. Its not often I laugh when reading or watching blu ray reviews and knowing that, so far, he addresses all the questions I want answered I will keep watching.

As an American, I'll agree that there are plenty of opinionated douchebags abound, especially on forums. However, I'll tell you this; BrassTax is a cool guy with class and panache, so please don't throw I'm an American around..because you don't speak for all of us...and it makes you look like a petulant child...so, thank you from the American people.

My mention of being an American was tied directly and exclusively to the opinion (which I believe is common to Americans in general) that the British are refined and exude class. I stand by the commonality of that belief and fail to see how that makes me a petulant child. Please don't throw your sycophantic umbrage around...it makes you look like you suffer from poor reading comprehension.

Default Decided to pick this one up despite having the blu-ray.

I got the blu for $7.99 on sale so I figured upgrading to this one won't be as bad cost-wise not to mention having both cuts and all the features coming along with it. Hoping this one will look incredible on 4K!

This transfer seems to have some issues similar to The Expendables 2, in that some scenes look much better than others, and various levels of grain management and sharpening appear to be baked into the DI. That said, it is nowhere near as brutal as that movie. Overall, it looks pretty solid. Detail is generall very good, and the WCG and HDR make the colors EXPLOSIVE, particularly during the ocean scenes. I will say the transfer is a bit bright for my tastes, but I'm sure others will find that to be a striking plus. I did notice some banding issues here and there, especially in fog.

Was there banding on the original BD? I don't recall seeing anything too glaring on that and I rewatched it just a few weeks ago. I'm tempted to pick up the UHD but only if it seems like a definitive upgrade, and not something like Oblivion or 3:10 to Yuma where the HDR is great but it's inferior to the BD in other areas.
