You haven't noticed? You've been responding to some of it yourself. I guess we can more aptly call it hysteria: Pouncing on threads, frantic about whether 3D releases are forthcoming for a given title, multiposting about the dire state of the format, practically striking out at 2D presentations (I am somewhat in this camp, as Hollywood is 99.9% dead to me without at least some depth-laden goodness), bumping threads where the title was never slated to arrive on home media, etc.

This is how it was all last year, hardly a new thing.

True, though I get the sense there's a new prospective concern in the air about the next shoe to drop studio-wise.

I see only Ferdinand and Underpants (animation) as movies released in 3D in theaters who did not get a 3D Blu-Ray release and Ferdinand underperformed domestically. This gives me hope FOX Will release Alita on 3D Blu-Ray because its listed as IMAX 3D and RealD3D for theater release on wiki. Also in theaters the trailer is shown in 3D in theaters as well. That movie is practically sold as a movie only to watch in 3D and they go every way to market the movie as such. I really hope FOX knows that Alita is a half movie without its 3D and has to see a 3D Blu-Ray release to see the intended version at Home in that format. Hope this is Real signs
It doesn't seem to have been in the U.S., but it most certainly was internationally. See page 4 of this thread.

I thought it was quite a good conversion, as I recall layers of forest foliage and things like lasers were effective in 3D, as well as some of the scenes near the end with the spaceship. One thing I hadn't seen before was that after the regular credit roll was over, there was a separate page of Imax 3D conversion credits. I think there are already 3D listings in the regular credits, so I was guessing perhaps it was punched up for Imax.

A lot of people have been saying how awful this was, and maybe if I had a stronger attachment to the franchise I'd feel the same way. It's not a great film, but I felt there was enough there for me to enjoy it, especially in 3D.

In 2d however, I have no inclination to see it ever again.

Well yes we've all had that concern since Disney started skipping 3D Blu Rays in the US.

Sorry for bumping but I really enjoyed this movie and I only wish I could see what the 3D was like. There was a lot of cool and fun action in this and I bet the 3D would have added a lot.

Watching this in 2D I got the sense that this was definitely one that would have played better at home in 3D than it did theatrically, I would have bought it for sure, but no 3D means no sale.

i think amazon.co.uk review section of this blu ray would be the ideal place for reasoned debate on if this should have been 3d or not haha, love some of the comments on there

The only reason i watched this at the theater was because it was in 3d ! I really liked it apart from the ending and would of got it on blu ray if they had released it in 3d .

Prime 1 went ahead and made a statue of the "Predator Killer" suit revealed at the end of the film.

Still no proper Cain from Robocop 2 but hey, enjoy this bit of insanity better suited for a 12-year-old's Trapper Keeper for $1,099.

And that has what to do with this movie (not being) on 3D blu ray?
