It's interesting that Paradise has become such a target of interest. I never, ever thought that this would happen.

I always sit through the end credits of these movies to see if any interesting names pop up.

Watching the credits for Private School, I noticed, "Choreography: Paula Abdul".

My Blu-ray collection will never be truly complete until Can't Buy Me Love is released in the format.

Unless somebody who champions movies buys Disney and opens the vaults, that crusty old fullscreen DVD is all we gun get

They are definitely not the same level of film but Paradise, which does have a lot more graphic nudity, shows it in the course of reality while Fast Times shows Phoebe topless as the
[Show spoiler]center of some dude's fantasy....while he's whacking off on a toilet seat no less
. I would think she'd be more embarrassed about that.

I agree about Blue Lagoon. The sensationalism about Brooke and the titillating imagery linked to the film seemed to overshadow the fact it was a decent fantastical desert island movie that dealt with some interesting coming of age issues. The ending always stuck with me.

Maybe. But I'd suggest that you're not looking at it from an actor's perspective. One scene (regardless of context) in what is generally considered to be a well-made film and a classic of its genre is always going to be easier to own than multiple scenes in a film that (apart from those scenes) isn't really cherished by many, if anyone.

Ok, the day I have been waiting for finally arrived yesterday, my copy arrived!! So, of course all others in the unwatched pile have to wait. All in all, a typical Shout 80's film presentation. Nothing that blew me away, except for Betsy of course, but PQ was decent 3.5-4 stars at best. There were some soft shots and detail was fair, except for the 'important' scenes, where detail blows all other home video releases out of the water, and you folks know what I mean. Yeah, I'm talking to you Betsy with the towel by the window at the beginning!!! Or the legendary bareback scene .... but back on topic.

The volume, on the other hand, was VERY LOUD. I had to turn down the receiver several times when music was played, as that was uncharacteristically louder than normal. Voices were very clear and had again good volume, but not like the music was.

I of course had to take in the Betsy interview. She still looks fantastic for almost 57, if I remember. Learned that they made her change her hair color, because they didn't want another girl looking like Phoebe, so she changed the hair and eyebrows. What she didn't know is that she didn't change her 'hair' when the towel came off, but again, I digress. Anyways, a fantastic presentation and an easy toss of the old dvd on this one. I wish they made these T&A comedies still, but ugh.. everything is taboo these days.

Oh, to all that have not seen Paradise, it is very cheesy and Willie Aames is just bad in it, as is Phoebe. It's not bad for a 'peek' but definitely not a good flick. Enjoy....

No reversible art but there's an awesome cast photo on the other side of the sleeve that's worthy of a poster.

All this talk of The Blue Lagoon is making me want to revisit the film. Is the sequel any good?

Usually I give away DVDs I no longer need, but for some reason I've decided to make this into a DVD/BD combo.

Can't Buy Me Love is another one of those 80s titles that just can't seem to get a blu-ray release (along with Pretty In Pink, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Career Opportunities). All pretty well known and three of them beyond well known. Yet, not that I am complaining, we can get Tammy and the T-Rex on UHD!
