Would love to see them release this, but I watched the BD recently and was thinking how good it actually did look. Bad filtering didn't stand out to me.

Hopefully we get all of QT’s movies including the ones he did the screenplay for like true romance and dusk till dawn in 4k at some point. Id buy them all except maybe jackie brown or four rooms.

Seconded. It always looked pretty damned good to me, as it should do being a regulation port from a 2K DI. It was shot anamorphic so it's got the usual shallow depth of field and associated softness at the periphery, but is it 'filtered'? Nah

I especially want "Natural Born Killers" and "Reservoir Dogs" (RD isn't my favorite but the BD looks like shit).

I hope they just do a big Tarantino 4K box set that also includes all of the extras from the BD Tarantino set that came out before Django Unchained. It's odd having two movies in my collection not bein that big set (haven't bought Once Upon a Time yet since it is his weakest movie in my book).

QT did do well with it because of the lenses. It gave a film that’s mostly indoors a unique look with the framing. That was a good move and gave it more ingenuity. Richardson did get nominated for an Oscar too.

Does the UHD then actually appear from Universal or Arrow ? As far as I remember, Arrow wanted to publish it as well ?

oh FFS, at least tell us if it's going to be 4K UHD, or blu-ray. Come on Arrow. Give us a release date!

Why would Arrow randomly do a Tarantino movie? Wouldn't they be better off doing a full collection?

Why would they do a collection? It's much easier to get the rights to one film than everything. Arrow seems to have a relationship with Universal and I believe Inglourious Basterds is the only Tarantino movie Universal has produced.

Exactly this. Not every director has a life-long tenure at one studio.

Because I have IB in the Tarantino box set, so I see no reason to buy the movies again individually.

Lionsgate had to license IB from Universal for that box set, though presumably Tarantino had a had in having that happen considering that box set was essentially a monument to his own ego.

Lionsgate has/had the rights to most of QT's movies through their deal with Miramax and Anchor Bay, though things may be up in the air. The Miramax library was recently sold to Paramount. But does Lionsgate retain the home video rights? Additionally, QT seems fairly uninterested in remastering his films for home video and doesn't seem to know/care about the 4K format.

Correction: The Weinstein Company produced it and distributed it in America. Universal gets the international and home media rights but it’s TWC’s movie.

The Czech retailer previously listing it has it postponed until 2021. Another one still has a release date for tomorrow but that's obviously not very likely.

While I find the blu of Basterds a beautiful disc, I am so ready for the UHD - even if it is ‘just’ the 2K version. Curious if the studio would see fit to scan the film at true 4K. A man can dream.
