Yeah, I LOVE what 88 and the crew have been doing. I was already enjoying their genre releases for years but was quite surprised and very happy when they started releasing Jackie Chan titles. Getting hired to be a part of it was and is simply incredible, and I am thrilled to be doing cover art for them. But still... just as a HK cinema and Chan Fan, getting to have and enjoy these releases is absolutely AMAZING!

Can the guys working on these 88 Film releases give us a bit about your background and how you got into this work? Just curious about the team that is doing such stellar work.

Let me second this, your artwork is terrific. I have AoG2 and Dragons Forever, and this is one of the few instances I am not going to be reversing to the original art.

Speaking for the other guys... Each one was born in The Year of the Dragon and created in a laboratory from stolen DNA from Wong Fei-Hung (found on the handle of his favorite Shaolin pole), Lau Kar-Leung, Angela Mao-Ying, and Bruce Lee. Raised by wooden wolves in the Shaolin Temple, and shipped directly to the 88 Films' secret kwoon where their skills were honed. (apologies if I got any of the facts wrong)

Damm I just watched the mediumrare version tonight after it sat on my shelf for some time and I finally convinced my son and wife to watch it (they hate subs). Surprised no ones mentioned the Cantonese tracks are out of sync. See Alan Tam singing Midnight Rider and the bit where he sticks the knife in the door trying to throw it at the monks near the end

Shocking release. Got my HK Legends DVD out to make sure I wasn’t losing it.

On the songs.. Midnight Rider (English) & Lorelei (Cantonese) is all I’ve seen it with (Channel 4, DVD (HKL & Region 3 Fortune Star release) & now Blu-ray) except for the Miramax Jackie dub that had a different song at the end and I was devastated that it wasn’t Lorelei.. not that Jackie’s song was but it lacks the tempo of Lorelei.

Anyway since I just bought Armour of God II from 88 Films I’ll be pre-ordering this when I can... hope it comes with a slip cover to match the 2nd one

I got rid of my Mediumrare copy for this very reason. Very surprised it wasn't picked up on by reviewers.

Fingers crossed the 88 films release has better sync.

Original English dub includes all three songs in English, with the English version of Lorelei closing out the film. That is my preferred way to watch the film. I’m hoping 88 will be as flexible with the hybrid soundtrack options as possible so that you can choose the final song you want, like the current fanedit I have. I’ll be buying regardless to support 88.

So many dub options, fingers crossed this release can deliver the goods

My preferred is English dub with the flight of dragon end theme, I’ve strategically stated this over multiple pages in this thread for maximum effect

This was how the original VHS was, so hoping for the same from 88

Hopefully, they'll find a way to offer branching options like the unofficial releases so that everyone will be happy.

I personally grew up with Flight of the Dragon as the closing credits song.

No worries, audio tracks have been delivered and will feature English & Cantonese versions of both
Loreli & Flight of the Dragon.

Were you able to include the English dub with Jackie's voice? I was hoping that a hybrid audio option could be used for the couple of minutes that he might not have dubbed himself in the international version.
