Some bum stole my package containing the blu-ray of Some Came Running. The Amazon delivery guy left it outside my apartment building which of course is an open invitation for thieves. Amazon says I have to wait 3 days before I can ask for a replacement.

You have had much better luck than me, most of mine have had cracks or worse to the cases

Most of mine (if not all) have arrived with minute or no damage. Perhaps yours get damaged in the final few miles by local carriers

My post office is notorious for damaged packages. Also for never leaving slips letting me know a package arrived and is waiting at the post office.

Porch thieves are getting worse. Is there an amazon drop point by your place? That might be a consideration.

Don't be so sure. I ordered The Thin Man Goes Home from Target's last B2G1 sale (November?), and after 2 months and a half-dozen delay approvals, they finally cancelled it. I ordered it from Amazon just after I got the Target cancellation email, and got it the next day with Prime...

Yeah "available", but waiting for a sale is still a huge gamble with Target these days. They often sellout within the first hour of the sale, which is why some stay up late to get it when the sale begins. They've now canceled several of my items from my Nov. 2021 B2G1 orders.

The most consistently on time and secure form of delivery I've experienced in recent years has been when I used an Amazon locker. It's completely eliminated any anxiety I used to have about packages that don't get delivered to my residence, or dropped off at the wrong suite in my office building, or get stolen etc. I see it as an added insurance policy for the delivery at no extra charge.
