Crimson Peak 4K UHD (2015) from Arrow Video

Amazon finally got back with me with a new delivery date after they delayed it. While it was delayed, I ordered it directly from Arrow. Arrow is showing I'll get my copy in about a week and Amazon is showing I'll get it in two weeks.

If the Arrow delivery does in fact arrive before the Amazon delivery, I'll simply cancel the Amazon order.

i would love to try to get this amazon if they correct date before next week apparently despite walmart guy last night told me i get refund back i forgot when requested cancel which did get cancel today when email said temp hold ain't getting no refund back basically when pend drop from when order weds<-never really order since they got it 0.0.0 i hope drops tomorrow prob mon

i still not sure if should try to reorder mon night or like midnight tues<-day it actually release or could get a 25 target gift card and wait midnight hopefully it doesn't go out of stock and order am not sure want to pay full price ebay or bullmoose

this was my mistake i didn't pay attention when they refunded me back early past weds on something i wished i never attempted to order it for today it wasn't until after i order i went back into this thread try to order it early last week got delay and then cancel now if i didn't call last night i bet it would had gotten cancel by system either today tomorrow or sun however i thought i might been ok when it went into preparing yesterday until i got dreaded delay email

i refuse to reorder walmart which saids right now get tues because if i try to do it prob get delay since i know walmart won't have it in stock at warehouse to ship until tues street date whoever try to release this early on walmart last week have gotten folks mess up meh

Gave it a watch tonight. This might be my 3rd or 4th viewing since it was released theatrically. I gotta say I enjoyed it more than I remembered.

I have both limited editions - the Blu-Ray and the 4K - and it seems the new box is of inferior quality compared to the original Blu-Ray one.

For me, the red color stands out more on the older, smoother paper. The new rougher paper feels cheaper and cracks easily (it was cracked in several places to show white lines), unlike my old copy, which has held up well after many uses. I’m sticking with the old box.

This is def a monster oversized release!!! Haha. I do not mind. Very nice packaging and book looks cool as well… I haven’t seen this for a couple years and never had the arrow Blu-ray… I’m enjoying this transfer greatly however…. Nice gorgeous movie!!!

what do you guys think i should do in my situation i doubt will fixed date for this coming up tues since still saying pre order on amazon saying28th for some odd reason so its being sun i don't think will change at all come mon ain't getting no amazon gift card

should i pay more aka full price off like ebay or bullmoose try to get 25 target gift card in hopes they have int in stock midnight tues pay 24.36

keep in mind that when i did order this past weds for friday when get delay walmart after i used 10 promo code i paid 35.11 beofore it got delay thurs maybe i should had waited but i bet it would had been cancel by system friday yesterday or today

again i thought when call walmart thurs nigh tthey would cancel it and i was told get refund back however i forgot when they request cancel and it got cancel friday ain't getting no refund back when pend drop mon just fall off like i never pay for it<-am not sure good or bad thing

Every time I watch this I enjoy it more. Whilst, I often find Del Toro's work rather emotionally detached, I can't help but love it. He packs so much visually into every frame that it rewards repeat viewing.

This is another win for Arrow (as if anyone was expecting anything different lol). Reportedly upscaled from a 2k DI from Universal and HDR graded and encoded by Fidelity in Motion, this is a very clean looking image for the most part. There is a very fine layer of "grain" in the brighter scenes, which is so refined I found it barely noticeable amid the abundance of visual detail on display. It becomes more prominent during low light scenes but is always perfectly resolved. Depth, detail and clarity seem almost infinite throughout no matter whether it's close-up or long shot. The clarity in facial features and imperfections, the rendering of fine detail in the costumes and scenery is so palpable, so tactile, it is often quite striking. Right from the crimson drenched universal logo, colour is simply gorgeous, bold, rich and refined without every feeling oversaturated. The disc doesn't include metadata but contrast and dynamic range are beautifully judged. It's never dull, even in the dark scenes, nor is it ever overblown or blinding in the highlights. where it works wonders, is opening up the detail in the shadows and adding that bit of bling to gemstones, metal work and other highlights.

The DTS:X track is wonderful also. Rich, dynamic, atmospheric and immersive. Zero complaints.

As for the encode, it is absolutely rock solid! Overall, this is a simply outstanding presentation from start to finish. Just buy it!

Interesting that they changed the design/texture of the box set. I think I like the more rough appearance vs the smoother one-similar to the VinSyn box sets. He says the red pops more with the new set.

I’m just glad to be getting this at all considering I missed out on the BD. We’ll see if Walmart will update my order. Tempted to order through deep discount (cheapest option) but they ship in a ravioli mailer which does not provide adequate protection.

let me know any movement i guess was too scare that cancel by system and got it cancel friday when it was delay thurs may try do walmart again mon night or tues at midnight reorder but will still try to do target 1st that if doesn't go out of stock midnight tues morning

The 4K is for sure the better of the two as far as the quality of materials used.
