Pretty stellar effort from Peter Jackson. I still have a soft spot for the original but this was well done.

Fallout (Season 1)

7 hours 58 minutes

It picks up in the second half but I had minor issues with it throughout. Most of the main actors are pretty on point but some of the minor characters feel a little...off, like they weren't sure of the tone to take. The tone is appropriate for Fallout, which is to say it ping pongs from serious to dark to darkly humorous to wacky and back again. All in all, I want to see more.

Ripley (2024) (444m)

I finished the new Ripley miniseries on Netflix, which is based on The Talented Mr. Ripley. It's really good. Beautiful black and white cinematography.

Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers) is Tom Ripley. Definitely a must watch if you enjoy any of the other adaptations.

Beast (2017)




Johnny Flynn who co-stars here plays Dickie Greenleaf in the new Netflix Ripley miniseries. It gave me the urge to rewatch this and it was even better than I remembered when I first saw it in the theater. Glad to own the Blu-ray. This was also the breakout film for Jessie Buckley.
