That's kinda the point of the thread. The OP is saying that he is not satisfied with Warner's transfer quality and lack of lossless on recent releases.

I'm buying BD's to replace my exisiting DVD collection. If it's a movie I like, I'll be getting it regardless of audio options. They're not going to just release a terrible sounding movie.

Digibook case doesn't bother me. I buy very few BD without lossless, but it depends on the movie. If Beetlejuice doesn't have a lossless track, I will pick it up anyway. Odds are it will look and sound better than the DVD it is replacing.

I'm only boycotting their titles without lossless. I like the digibook packaging, even if it's a little flimsy.

"Beetlejuice" has a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack on it. It might look like "crap", but it should sound good anyway...

Think about how dumb that strategy is.

"We will get them to release better blu-rays, by not purchasing their blu-ray"

good plan...Boycotting Warner=Maginot Line...both really good plans

So then we should all rush out to buy 7 seconds so that Sony will release more crap too then right?

Let me fix it for you,

Warner's lossy strategy=Maginot Line...this makes more sense b/c both were stuck in the past.

Boycott's are effective means of making a point b/c nothing matters more to a company than their bottom line.

Blu-Ray should be about maximizing the possible quality of a video/audio presentation, not short changing on it. Let the customer speak the best way they know how.

Me too. That's all I really care about with BD releases.

well... everyone can now stone Warner's for NOT including lossless on the upcoming 'Speed Racer' bluray release.

Calm down, if you like the movie it's worth the purchase.

I'm just not buying anything that isn't future-proof, as simple as that.

And since my setup is good enough to hear plenty of reasons for going lossless, I'm avoiding all post-1990 releases with lossy audio (as the fidelity on those original masters is good enough to really tell the difference). With the pre-1990 ones, of course, lossless is always a big plus, too.

Still, I'm getting about one Warner BD a month, so it's not like I'm boycotting them or anything. Just today, I got HTWWW, and can't stop singing its praises.

Wasn't this the angle to get Warner to go blu exclusive? "We should not buy their blu-ray releases, that way they can't ignore blu-ray!"
