I don't have the ability to add movies from countries not currently a part of the system (US, UK, JP, KR, FR, CA). Maybe Iceman can add that country when he gets a chance.

I like how the Collection count has been added below each users Trading score.

Thx!

If you start breaking items up into multiple titles, things start to get very confusing and inconsistent. Discs with multiple cuts may seem like obvious 1 title items, but it's not that simple. What about when different cuts of the film are sold separately - those are obviously 2 items, so why would they only be 1 if they happen to be sold together? Are we defining items as films, or as retail packages? If we're defining items as films, would you count having both a regular edition and a later double-dip collector's edition of the same film as only 1 item as well? And within boxsets, how do you define what constitutes a film? Does The Animatrix count as a film? If there's a separate disc with a documentary, but it's a feature-length one that has also been released independently, does that count as a film? How do TV seasons count? How about sets that compile multiple seasons? How about the crazy Masters of Horror releases, where one season is spread out over 4 separate retail packages?

Defining an item as a retail package is simple - there is no ambiguity to it. There are a finite set of retail packages, and there's no way to interpret them as anything other than what they are. If you are one of those who deconstructs every box set into its separate parts, then just add the items to your collection as if you bought them separately. Buy the 20-BD cube and want it to show up as 20 items? Add the individual versions of each of the 20 titles to your collection. Buy the Die Hard collection but want it to show as 4? Add the 4 individuals. You choose how your collection counts films by what retail packages you choose to add.

Yes, there are a few examples where retail packages aren't sold in individual components, so you can't break them down (like The Matrix collection) - but there are far fewer issues like this than there would be with the other scheme, and at least the rules are consistent as there just simply isn't a retail package for the individual titles yet.
Good arguments. I'll add the individual titles to my collection along with the box set. That way I get back one of the lost two Spider-Man movies. I wish Sony would release Spider-Man 1 & 2 individually, but meh, I can get around it.

Default Lots of older UK movies missing from the movie database

I'm sure you are very aware, that there are lots of older UK region movies missing from the database...

This was never too much of a problem until the new community feature was released, and the excellent personal library cataloguer

And for the most part it's still not too much of an issue, as the UK releases are generally identical to the equivilant US releases, and so i'm quite happy to add the US releases into my catalogue (i put a note in the comments that i have the UK version)

However, there are a handful of UK releases that are completely different, and i'm wondering if these could be added to the database

I hope that (given time) you are planning on eventually adding all missing releases to the database, as i would love to keep my catalogue as accurate as possible... but for now i was wondering if some sort of priority could be made to adding the handful of past releases that are completely different

From my own collection these would be:

The Prestige - Different studio/publisher, completely different encode
Starship Troopers - Different encode, and extras, and cover-art
Terminator 2 - Completely different studio/publisher, completely different encode

There also a few that are mildly different, such as Rambo has no digital copy, and some others with different cover-art

And i'm sure there are many others that i've read about on the forums, as well as many releases that are so far 'exclusive' to the UK and don't exist on the database in any form what-so-ever

Maybe other users could add to my list in the replies below to help the moderators 'tick off' the releases as they are added

But overall, BIG thanks for the cataloging feature i think it's brilliant and exactly what i've been wanting

Suprised my movies I listed as not watched are now labeled as NEW. I was expecting it to mean not watched by me.
Who cares is they are new, when it leaves my hands it will not be new, unless I am selling new movies. Most of us buy new movies to watch, not sell.

I'm sure their bombarded with all the titles we've been giving them, the import list is pretty big. I'm sure in a month they should have some of this backlog down.

It's not just older releases that aren't on the site.
Please could someone add the UK releases of:

Galapagos
Spider-Man 3 to the site

Could you also specify the frame/field rates of the UK releases as I'll be very unhappy and less likely to buy them if they've been slowed down or sped up. Thanks.

That means they are "new to you" as in, you haven't watched them yet.

In the community section, there's 4 pie charts (studio share, country share etc.). This may be a silly question, but why do the percentages have what look like commas in the percentages where the decimal points should be (or are they decimal points in a different font)?
