Wow, that is hilarious...all guys are the same eh! The reason I chose them over the Paradigms was their musicality, it just felt more natural. The Paradigms were big and powerful, but didn't have the smoothness of the Monitors. Not to say I didn't like them both, because I did.

I didn't feel like I would be losing much, if anything on the home theater side by choosing Monitor Audio.

I told my wife what you did, and she said "I need a Vaca in Hawai'i!" then she said...... "No Doubt I would come home to new speakers too, Prolly a new TV too.... It might be cheaper just to take you." LOL she is such a smartalick...

You should have just purchased everything you needed to so when she gets back, you don't have to worry about telling her what else you're going to need to get.

Just music. They usually say what is good for music, is good for movies as well though. That said, if I were doing 100% movies with no music the Paradigms were way more up front at lower volumes. I could definitely see a theater room rocking the Monitor 9s no problem.

I have watched some movie scenes since I have been home though, and they sound great!!!

I have the wife trained that if the Fronts change so does the Center......

Of course there are no changes being made for a few years at least....
