Well I got my new dual XV15s setup this weekend and I am very pleased with the performance of these fine subs. When I set the first one of them up, I was really disappointed with the sound and overall output of the bass so I knew something must be wrong with my 2800 cft room or the way I was setting things up.

I tried moving the sub to other places like the front of the room but that did help and I even did the sub crawl test again which pointed me to the original spot of my SVS PB12-plus, just to the right of my couch. I listened to my favorite MC music and something was still not right. It just didn't sound like my old sub.

I was about to email support at PSA when I remembered that I have a couple of peaks and nulls between 30 and 50Hz. I had been able to smooth those out with the PEQ function in the SVS, but I knew the XV15 did not have this option. I then decided to setup the other sub to see if that would help with the sound and that did the trick. I went with a mid side wall location.

Wow! The sound is much improved now with plenty of output and the response sounds smooth overall with good definition in the bass. I have each sub level balanced and the gain set to around 3 oclock for each sub and I got about a 4.5db increase with the combined subs. I then had to turn down the level in my Oppo player to match the main speakers.

I am using analog connections because music sounds so much better to me with my Oppo 105 and this configuration. I also use the analog for movies as well and the results are very nice. I tried some of my favorites MC sacd and dvd audio discs like Steely Dan's Gaucho and Donald Fagen's Morph the Cat. It sounds excellent and I also tried out a couple of blurays like LOTR FOTR opening scene. I get great extension in the bass and Star Trek-Into Darkness opening scene was very good also.

Thank you to Tom and Jim at PSA for making such excellent subs, and I am glad I decided to go the dual route with subs. It was worth the time and effort in selling my old SVS sub which was excellent as well. Glad to be a part of the PSA family now.
Congrats! I will be part of the PSA family soon too!!. My order should be placed in a few hours. ))

Thanks guys! Well I have to say I'm very impressed so far. I was watching the first 5 minutes of a few movies (it was late). So I started with turbo, it was scary, I mean i wasn't expecting that kind of bass. Second was pacific rim......... The sub.....wasn't shaking the couch, it was kicking it and punching it!!! Wooow that was amaZing. The last one was Star Trek into darkness. it was ok, nothing fantastic maybe it's just the beginning.

Tonight I'm going to watch the first full movie, so I let you guys know later or tomorrow.

But so far I love it!
