Remind's me of the old TV show from England, Blackadder. In one episode Rowan Atkinson's character (Blackadder) said "this is the worst idea in the entire history of worst idea since that time when Abraham Lincoln said honey I am bored let's go to the theater tonight"

I can say with certainty that isnt the first time i have heard comments in regards to Lincoln, so that other guy should relax. That wasnt the most tasteless joke there. And while I didnt find it terribly funny, most of his stuff was.

Of course you could only go WAY UP after last years crap fest

Didn't Daniel Day-Lewis do the same thing when he won for There Will Be Blood? It may have not been flipping the bird but I do remember him snapping on someone.

That's the rumor I've heard. Damn shame, as that would have been the highlight of the ceremony.

All in all I though the show was well done, and the host McFarlane acquitted himself well, but my expectations weren't *super* high. I realized he was going to find a way to inject his random access Famiy Guy-style humor into the production, and the nature of that is hit-or-miss; but it didn't go off the rails like I feared it would (though the first skit could've had the end chopped off a bit). Those calling him the worst host ever are just dishing up hyperbole, especially when clips from two years ago's disaster are readily available.

Wasn't a fan of the First Lady introducing Best Picture, obviously an attempt by the producers to one-up Bill Clinton at the Globes (where such a stunt actually worked). This isn't a political thing I just thought it was pointless, and would have much rather seen Jack do his thing than be reduced to a prop.

I didn't expect Waltz to repeat but I'm glad he won.

I really thought Deakins was going to win. You look at every review out there and not one of them fail to mention the cinematography. You don't see that too often.

Glad Argo won too. The win only validates everyone's bewilderment when Affleck wasn't nominated for best Director.

I think the win was caused by it.

Man she looks hot in any picture :P

So the reviews are coming in about MacFarlane hosting and most I expecting from people that don't know most about his jokes.

Something to think about,

Michelle Obama appears to present the award for best picture to a film about a CIA operation. Lincoln, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty is the government secretly involved in the filmmaking business? Are they secretly programming and conditioning us to conform with its ideals?

I still love her, who cares if she flipped the bird? That gesture has lost a lot of its bite over the years. Congratulations on becoming the youngest Best Actress in a Lead Role winner ever Jennifer.

Marlee Matlin (at 21) was the youngest actress to win, Lawrence (at 22) is the second youngest.

One of the better Oscar telecasts in a while. I thought Seth was going to suck (as I hate Family Guy and American Dad), but he actually did a decent job. I am impressed.

The only thing that sucked about it was the Bond tribute, or lack there of. Did I miss something? They showed a dumb montage, and then Bassey sung Goldfinger (she was great). Was that it? I could have sworn that I read that all the people who played Bond would be on stage together. WTH happened??

Stop, just stop.

Orson Welles played Charlie Kane. As in Charles Kane. As in Citizen Kane.

never watch these things as I am constantly confused by how things are selected and by who wins. Argo wins best picture but the director isn't nominated however Life of Pi loses to Argo for best picture but wins best director can't help but think that it won only because Afleck wasn't nominated which then begs the question, how legit is that best director win? was it really the best or just the best that they looked at? along with that, then how important is winning an Oscar?

and how many of these movies were released and already talking about the number of nominations they got?? pretty sure Django was released talking about all the nominations it already had.

Did see McFarlane's opening song on youtube though and thought it was funny as hell.
