Yeah, I said it
My guess is...the price?

I don't care for those either, but at least they were in the film.

I just don't want this variant stuff to get out of hand where they end up spending a lot of time making (milking?) them instead of new figures that everyone wants to see, like new Aliens figures, specifically Ripley, the Marines, Bishop, etc. I could see them doing a black chrome Endoskeleton next, if this Batman does well.

Then again, the people that love the variant stuff probably aren't interested in those, so I guess we all just have to sit and wait and hope they make what we want eventually.

I just can't wrap my head around that for some reason, if you're a film fan and a Batman fan, why would you want to pay that kind of money and display something that doesn't even exist in that world you're such a fan of? It's almost an insult to the fanboy intelligence, knowing they'll buy anything "cool looking" or "limited edition".

Whatever, to each their own I suppose.

The Kenner action figure variant Batman suits from Batman Forever and Batman & Robin always irked me even as a child. My parents and friends' parents managed to buy all of them for me as birthday and Christmas presents, (and this may sound snotty) and I had no choice but to keep them, open them, and incorporate them somehow during play. I think out of all of those Batman figures, only ONE from Batman Forever was an actual suit seen in that film, and there were roughly 15 different suit variants per movie.

It's not that much of a variant to say that it doesn't exist. In fact the black chrome look actually looks a lot like the scenes from BvS when it's night time and raining.

Personally, I like the chrome Batman better than the screen accurate one. The black looks nicer than the gunmetal color IMO.

Whether, if this latest iteration of Batman sells well or not, HT will still make Batman figures because it is one of the most popular franchises of all time. They know this will sell out. Movie accurate or not, Batman will sell out. Custom made Batman? Fans wants them. Heck, even the problematic HT Dark Knight and Batman Begins figures interests me.

If I have the cash, I will buy every Batman that comes out because I love Batman. But, as it is, I can't afford all of them so I will buy what pleases me.

That's just the Batman fan-boy in me or maybe I am just crazy...

The chrome looks really nice when displayed with awesome LED lighting compared to the matte gunmetal armor.

Those POPs are the next best thing as they are more affordable.

let's just say, HT and Sideshow Collectibles are the toys for the big boys.

You're making the assumption that I like BvS. I haven't even seen it yet, so I cannot really comment but everything I have seen sofar on what is essentialy a live-action adaptation of DKR tells me it's crap. Yes I like films & Batman, but I have never seen Batman & Robin. Should I?

"That Kind of money"? It's only a tiny bit more than the regular armoured which looks crap IMO, but not as bad as no neck Batman

I love The Nolan Trilogy but don't have a 1/6 Batman, only Two-Face/Harvey Dent, Selina Kyle, DX-01 Joker, Bat armoury Bruce Wayne an unofficial Master Ninja Ducard & 1/4 QS001 Batman

I can't stand T2 but that didn't stop me from buying DX-13. I don't buy figures just because I like the films, I buy them because they are GOOD figures & if the films are good but the figures are crap, I won't buy them. Case in point, Die-cast Whiplash should have come with the proper head, not one he wears for a few seconds. Total letdown! Didn't buy the original whiplash cos I was waiting for this version

Yeah, every Bat-fan should watch Batman and Robin at least once in their lifetime.
