Obviously not uhd, but anyone checked out the import 3 movie collection dvd? I'd be curious just for the sequels, though it sounds like they may be vhs captures. Are they at least presentable quality? There are LDs for those movies, but I don't want to pay that kind of money.

I believe 2 is based on a widescreen master created by MGM (who owned international rights from distributor Vision International). III is a crappy tape master port with rainbowing and dotcrawl but is in the 1.33 OAR.

I want the first sequel on blu at least. It was my introduction and remains my favorite.

I do have the original VS release and it’s in the top 10 in my collection

Imported this to the UK due to the sale price. First time watch for me, what a blast. I'm not that familiar with the S&S genre really but I've seen Dragonslayer, quite enjoyed it, and Excalibur, which was great and delightfully abstract at times. I thought this would be entertaining kid fodder, which it kind of was, wish I'd seen it thirty-odd years ago, but it really kept me interested throughout. Some pretty dark violence and creative character designs, especially the witches and those like Femto bat bastards, and Rip Torn chewing the scenery. Tanya Roberts is prime 80s candy, her eyes looked amazing - plus everything else. Singer was pure cheese, which was perfect. Great film, good looking release, I'm a convert. Cheers, VS.

I have a German dvd of 2 and 3 , both look horrible . I really want part 2 , Is this Aussie any better ? MGM , I wonder if we have a chance for a blu-ray of it maybe from Kino ? You would think Amazon would at least have it streaming since they own MGM .

MGM only had international rights to 2 through the catalog of distributor Vision International, though I believe Don Coscarelli himself now owns it. III was a DTV film co-produced with Universal and is controlled by them.
