Beautiful Work... Love that Playtime.. .I will hold on to my standard DVD set for the packaging ... but I love those BD cases. I can't wait to read some PLAYTIME reviews. That film was made to be seen on the screen... for all the detail etc.

I'm wondering if anyone who's had experience with Barnes & Noble can help me with a quick question.
I received a 20% discount code from them, so I thought excellent; I'll use that to pre-order the Complete Montereu Pop.
But the current price is $62.99!!! A miserable $7 off the list price, and even with 20% off would still be much higher than Amazon. (another reason I'm keen to use B&N is that I can use Paypal there).

So my question is; if I place an order now, will the price be adjusted if it drops between now and shipping?
And I suppose the bigger question is; is the price likely to drop, or do they traditionally have higher prices??

Honestly, I think you're much better off locking in the pre-order price of $46.99 at Amazon right now for "The Complete Monterey Pop." Other than the current 50% off Criterion sale going on at Barnes & Noble. If you just look at their sticker prices, you'll see that the standard 2-disc sets go for $39.99 daily. But, if you're wanting to use your PayPal account, then the option you mention above may be your best bet. I'm not sure if Barnes & Noble has a pre-order price guarantee like Amazon does, though.

Thanks.
As it happens, the coupon couldn't be used for pre-orders, so I left my Amazon order intact, and used the 20% to buy El Norte & Last Metro, which were my two "missing" Criterion Blu-ray titles.
$45.45 shipped to me in Ireland, nice price.

With that great sale, I'm very tempted to pick up some more titles.

Great that they're continuing with the clear cases. Consistency über alles!

Pretty sure I've picked up at least 20 new Criterions thanks to this freakin' sale at B&N! Oh, and BTW, their customer service sucks! Seriously, if I didn't already have the money spent on Gift cards (local grocery store runs a promo when you buy gift cards) for there I would have stopped buying Criterions online from B&N.

Halloween was released on Blu-ray by Anchor Bay in 2007. Details.

+1 Criterion does not release Anchor Bay titles on Blu-ray, "The Man Who Fell to Earth" is the only exception.

Criterion is releasing Mira Nair's "Monsoon Wedding" on Blu-Ray. Disappointed, because I would rather have them release The Namesake on Blu-Ray instead. One of my favorite movies ever.

Amazon has their pre-orders up for Criterion's remaining October blu-rays now. At $34.99, though, they're the priciest Criterion pre-orders I've seen on Amazon so far. The "Howards End" pre-order price is still holding at $29.99, as well.

October 13th
- Monsoon Wedding

October 20th
- Howards End

- Wings Of Desire

Just bought "The Third Man" blu-ray at B&N today for 18.90, and just watched it, I have never seen this film before and WOW, what an awesome film! Incredible PQ and sound for a film of this vintage, how this did not get Best Picture and was not even nomintaed is beyond me, I mean "All About Eve"(the BP winner that year) is a classic but this one is so much better IMO! Can't wait to take a dive in the extensive extras!
