I do believe it's the whole thing bud, but really they had great bang for the buck products.

Also sad Klipsch Abandoned the Energy Flagship in the Veritas.

At 129$ it, hard to get better value for the money and should fill your room just fine.

the best buy magnolia store near me only had the newer cb-10s i believe, none of the new towers. the drivers on the cb-10s did look much better than the current c-series. i didn't get a chance to listen to them, but they definitely look very nice...

Arrt, you need to hear them... I think you will sell the Def Techs and the C-500s.... seriously I am reconsidering buying high high-end.... for the price and the everything I was really happy.. ear to ear smile.

But I am gonna look at other things like the Focal Chorus 716v & 726V, Dali Lektor 8s, Dynaudios, Totems, perhaps the Revel Concerta F12s, Now the CF-70s and perhaps the new RC line if it comes out next year. However if I cannot get a good price on any of them, or don't see a vast improvement, I will buy new Energys.

i don't know about selling the deftechs...i actually sat down after watching the finale of "the pacific" last night and listened to the full orchestral score during the end credits. i've never heard music fill the room like that on my energys. the c-c100 kept up pretty well too. i'm in a bit of a quandry though cause i don't know if i'll be able to find the exact matching ctr for the new bp10s, as they're the older model. that's a big reason why my c-500s probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon. i guess i probably could make a profit by re-selling the deftechs in a few wks, but who knows...

i probably will get around to listening to the cf line at some point, but right now i'm gaga over my bargain deftechs...

perhaps if I knew what the mid-bass and low end bass seperation was from you and BigAls C-500s, the CF-70s may not have been as big of a difference and I could see that I need more then them, MAYBE.... I don't know but the C-300s while upper mid-bass is there, there is no real true mid-bass or low-end bass, mostly due to their linear design, but the combination of the Yamaha 765 and CF-70s had me really happy. I only listened in 2-channel also, movies, music. I can say I was happy with what I heard.

Is this to match your center Channel?

Great price here on the LS300 but yeah C-500 will have more guts.

No I'm not trying to match the center. I have the Athena line LS-C100 center along with 4 LS-500's. In the future when I upgrade to 7.1, I may want to add two more floorstanding speakers and the Athena LS-500's can't be found anymore. I actually bought my four at $150 each at audioadvisor. I think I may want to add an Energy C-500 pair for 7.1 as I heard they were similar, but doing some research I learned their specs are a bit inferior to their cousins and wasn't sure if the timbre match claims were true after that point.

Do you think all floorstanders for surrounds are more desirable to bookshelves?

personally I don't think it matters for surrounds, its ambiance and extras you get, not the full brute audio like your front sound stage.

You could easily do LS-300 for back surround using 60hz X-over and it would sound sick

C-500 not so easy to find either.

http://www.wwstereo.com has the C-300s again... that could be used too if they are that similar.

At 250 for a single speaker he's way better with the LS300 at 99$ a pop.

yes that is quite tempting

what would the best placement be for the LS500 and LS300 as far as which one should be sides and rear surrounds?

use the LS500s as sides and LS300s as backs.
