I just started using the thorn since the vex seems t have been nerfed. I can see why it's hated lol get 2 -3 shots in they run away and boom poison!

I know the feeling, I will hopefully get to play with some capable folks this weekend.

A good idea is to practice in the elimination playlist. Same as trials, but just good old crucible, no weapon or gear advantage, and maps cycle. You get to learn strategy and maps. I am hoping to try elimination soon.

The cool thing about Trials is that you don't need to be good, you just need to play smart. Some of the guys that I play with are not the best PvP players to grace the Destiny universe, but they are willing to listen, make up strategies, and adjust according to different situations.

When my friends were offline and I wanted to run some Trials last weekend, I was looking on regular DestinyTracker LFG at the people who were bragging about winning Trials. A quick glance at their stats show that some of their KDRs sit at 0.7 or worse.

yeah, 0.7 guy teamed up with 2 guys with 2.0 k/d ratios!! that or some form of lag switch!!!

makes me sad how they nerf/buff weapons so quickly. I loved the Red Death last IB, but this time around I was getting wasted. Next they'll nerf the impact/range on the Thorn.

Last week I mentioned that IB was easier than regular crucible, here are some stats while getting all 3 guys to level 5, keep in mind the current KD went up a hair, especially the hunter as it is my newest guy and has seen the least amount of action.

Toon -> Current KD -> Last week

Hunter 1.43 1.75
Warlock 1.27 1.69
Titan 1.21 1.79

I ended the week with a game of 21KD, I died once and had 21 kills, I love the shores of time map as I prefer a scout rifle.

Interestingly, I started with my fang just because it was 365 and once I got the new Gheleons I swapped to it for the rest of the week. I always see how I get killed and nobody ever killed me with the fang, and only 1 Gheleons.....it seems we scout rifle guys are few and far between.

I think it was Ric who mentioned the MIDA in the last go around......for this round of IB, it's all I used.

I used to strictly use the SUROS.

I'm actually using scout rifles in PVE exclusively now too.

I don't like the mida scope and prefer Ghorn for the exotic slot. I usedto use suros also, but it's too far gone now, I had to swap to something else and the 3 shot kill scouts work pretty good for my play style.

Nerfing and Buffing is an endless cycle. There will ALWAYS be one weapon considered "Op".

You nerf one, then another will rise above it. Nerf that and next in line will be at top. Buff one, and it will be used more, and others less.

Funny enough, I was being taken out just fine by other weapons too. Granted, they were mostly hand cannons, but still. In my opinion shottys are fine as they are. Auto rifles are weak.

A novel idea would be to buff all weapons, as in, make them all viable weapons. Weapon balancing is such a tricky thing to get right, if even possible at all.

Knowing Bungie, they are looking at their fancy graphs and weapon utilization and are readying a patch to jack with weapons again. Hopefully, to buff auto rifles, and tune Fusion rifles, and to leave hand cannons unchanged.

I actually found I could get more head shots with the MIDA scope. Worked a lot better for my play style.

Can't wait to try gheleons in the next go of IB.

I was also rocking a machine gun for the bounties this last time.....so the ghoen spectated.

Right with you on that, Benny. I love the MIDA scope, far above and beyond any other. However I can only use the gun on the wide-open maps where i can camp far enough back to be semi-safe. All other maps I use Thorn.

I watched a video john sent me where he was rocking people. He was using thorn, it got me to wonder how I'd do with one.

For the most part, I was able to use the MIDA on pretty much every map.
