Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks.

OK I have a new question for you guys. The SC-35s are still around and you can get them for less than $1000 now and they still have ICE amps and will do 3D pass through. If I wanted to sell my SC-25 what would be a good asking price? It's in excellent condition.

EDTI: Ok maybe they don't have ICE Amps, but the description on Pioneer's website says "Direct Energy HD Amplification developed with ICEpower®".

I just ordered the Klipsch reference RB-62 II speaker system with a Klipsch SW-310 sub. I have a Pioneer Elite SC-27 so I'm wondering what other minor changes i need to make other than just hooking up my speaks and letting the MCACC calibration system set it up. Any recommendations?

Here's one: After auto cal, go into manual speaker settings and set all speakers to "small"

Dont know for sure. But if I were selling, I'd check out ebay and audiogon and see what they're selling for used.

Yeah I've heard setting speakers to small gets you a more dynamic sound....what should I set the crossover at? Anything else I may need to to enhance the audio experience?

What speakers do you have? Most people are fine setting the crossover at the THX recommended setting of 80 Hz.

i just jumped on the 6th ave deal in the electronics deal forum for the pio elite sc-27. i bought it last night for $736 shipped. i think its a nice upgrade from my vsx-23 i have now.

do you think i will notice a big difference between the 2 receivers? i know its not 3D and i really dont have any interest in it to be honest. so its not a concern to me. i know i am jumping up 30 watts per channel and it has the ice amp, better use also for ipod/iphone use. also has a better video processor than my elite

kinda of excited to get it and hook it up. i havent bought a new reciever in a few years now.

any input would be appreciated, thanks

The SC-27 is a great-sounding receiver with ample power. It's going to blow away your prior receiver. As you said, it only lacks the ability to pass 3-D. In every other way it's a stellar piece of electronics.

I'm setting up my new Reference RF-62 II Klipsch speakers with my SC-27 and I forgot what should I set the crossover and the volume levels on my sub before I start the MCACC?

I would check again after MCACC. Sub should be no higher than 12 o'clock for volume.

Use 80 as the universal crossover, and maintain the volume/gain on the back of the sub at no higher than 1/2. MCACC may find this too much (depends on the sub(s), and if so, you will get a message when you run MCACC if it is too loud) and if so, adjust the volume/gain on the back of the sub down a bit until MCACC is OK with it.

Congrats on the new receiver, my SC-05 is doing a great job after 2 1/2 years!

Don't forget, MCACC is a very flexible calibration set-up. There is quite a bit you can do after MCACC has done it's thing. Tweak the sound to your liking if you don't like what you hear after running MCACC. Lastly, don't forget to use the 6 settings you can save from MCACC for different applications as well.

Hey,

Do you guys think that I'll regret getting the Pioneer 1021-K over a last year Elite model? Is there a very large difference in the video/audio quality?

My current setup is an SVS PB10 Sub, Panasonic P55VT30, Klipsch speakers (5.1). We only sit like 8 feet away from our TV and generally keep the volume low or else my subwoofer will knock stuff off walls.

EDIT: Please note that I'm currently upgrading from my Onkyo TX-SR605 due to lightning damage.
