For a start, Deb's a totally different person from the first season (granted its expected after what she went/has been through)
Yeah I use to dislike the Debra character but I started to like her more each seasons, now she's one of my favorite.

I was exactly the same
the original, bubbly Deb I disliked and she just annoyed me. But after the end of S1 that dislike faded into indifference. Now I love her, spesh since the S6 cliffhanger. S7 (my fave season oddly) was all about her IMO and I reckon S8 could largely be the same

Showtime Confirms DEXTER’S Upcoming Eighth Season Will Be Its Last; Watch a Clip from the Final Season
Quote:

It’s officially official, folks: Dexter has run its course. While producers of the wildly popular Showtime series had previously stated that they began season seven with the intention that the show would come to an end at the conclusion of season eight, the network had yet to publicly confirm an end date. Now Showtime has confirmed that the upcoming eighth season of Dexter will in fact be its last. The Michael C. Hall-fronted series continues to be a ratings draw for the pay cable network, but its quality has been a bit of a roller coaster over the past few seasons.

The first teaser trailer for season eight hinted at the titular character hitting a breaking point this year, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of endgame the producers have in mind given the events that transpired last season.
[Show spoiler]Yvonne Strahovski, who appeared in a multi-episode arc last year, is confirmed to be returning for this final season,
so might Dex get a semi-happy ending after all? We’ll find out for sure this summer when season eight of Dexter premieres on Sunday, June 30th.

Thanks! Interesting. I like that scene. It doesn't give much on the fallout of LaGuerta, but it does show how it is affecting Debra. It's officially the last season now so I can't wait to see how it all ends

Even though S7 was awesome and pretty much back to the glory days of Dexter following the misfire of S6, I am pleased they've made the decision to "hopefully" go out on top.
They succeeded in making S7 memorable so fingers crossed this carries on through S8.

Sad to see it go. But it's time.

And for Breaking Bad, it's there chance to finish strong and go down as one of the best ever.

Yeah Dexter have to end and I'm talking about my favourite show ever!

Aren't they planning to bring Walter White to the big screen after season 5? I know it was rumored a while back. What about the spin off show focusing on Saul Goodman, Talking Bad. I love Breaking Bad and hope it closes in glory in the last half of the fifth season and stop there, at the top.

Showtime president David Nevins said a Dexter spinoff is a possibility:

Quote:
While Dexter will end with the upcoming eighth season, that won’t necessarily be the end of the franchise, with a spinoff series a possibility. “There are all sorts of possibilities,” Nevins said, adding that “all kinds of ideas have been discussed but there is nothing happening right now.” There are no plans to use any of the episodes in the upcoming season of Dexter to set up a potential spinoff, and no Dexter cast members have deals for potential off-shoot series. “This season is about this season playing out the trajectory of the Dexter character,” Nevins said.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed there won't be a Breaking Bad movie. And they're talking about a Saul Goodman spin-off, but nothing is official, just that Vince Gilligan wants one.

The last screen shot in the trailer really make Dexter look like a sociopath, it gave me the chills. Maybe they are going to find a way to make us hate the guy we use to love.

Season 8 will be crazy from those 2 sneak peaks, it's most probably all from the first episode.

I don't know if they could do that in one season. With Breaking Bad, it was a slow build up from loving Walt to hating the person he's become. I feel like the only way I could possibly hate Dexter is if Deb died because of him or by him. I'm still 100% convinced she's going to kill herself. That sneak peak just made me believe it more. And if she does

Another promo with old scenes but still good:

I don't mean hate like I f--king hate him, I want him to die kind of way. I mean in a way that he's an a-hole. Before you could understand why he did things he did, and now it's all based around power, and allowing extremely bad things to happen because of it. On top of that, being in complete denial of the possible consequences. Of course not everyone will "hate" Walt, but I know I and others dislike him. I guess saying I love Walt as a character, but hate what he's become is a better explanation.

Anyways, I just don't think one season is enough to all of a sudden make the audience hate/dislike or whatever Dexter unless he's done something bad enough. To me, Deb dying by him or because of him is something that probably make me dislike him, I'm sure others would love for Deb to die. And maybe it's something else that would make people turn against him, or maybe nothing at all. It's all on how you see the character and their actions.
