All that '70's show', 'how I met your mother' etc etc, anyone actually find that stuff funny?
Glad you got your set

I have yet to venture into the special features! Although I do love HIMYM so chances are I've seen the star wars spoof, as I've got every episode But I cant recall everseeing a star wars spoof (in the voice of old Ben ) so chances are I didn't find it that funny lol

At least TPM sounds kind of bad-ass, even though the film itself, isn't.
I remember thinking "The Empire Strikes Back" title was pretty cheesy at the time, soon got over that one though!

I think Attack of the Clones is a great title, not a great film, but at least the title linked in with the Saturday morning serials style titles.

Well, to be fair most of these spoofs are ripped from continuity (from their respective shows), also if you're not familiar with the sitcom characters it's pretty meaningless! But some of 'em were terrible. Oh, and I hate Family Guy.... just thought I'd get that in!

Yeah, I find that a lot of spoofs of a lot of films seem prety lame when taken out of context of the overall show.

Postie been & gone, no box set (from Sainsbury's). I wanna see A New Hope not work right in my player and be annoyed first-hand at the dearth or meaningful special features, goddamit!

Just got my set

It's pretty much like the My Family 1-7 set, with an improved disc removal process (it looks just the same but the My Family discs are way too hard to get out - on my set at least); however, the tape that holds the stack together feels cheaper and weaker than on the My Family set.

And now… well, I'm behind on paperwork

I've seen that before but I wasn't quite sure which one it is

edit. Ooops never mind. I guess the AMARAY logo at the bottom wasn't a big enough clue!

Just watched A New Hope. The PQ had some wow moments and thought it looked beautiful with a nice amount of grain intact and fine detail but there was some scenes of excess edge enhancement.I was dissapointed with the rear sound though it seemed quite weak and the film seemed quite front heavy what do you guys think? Had a chuckle to myself when Obi Wan told R2 to come out from the rocks and thought how the f*** is he gonna do that he's trapped by the CGI.

Ah, The Phantom Menace. That was quite disheartening for me, the video presentation. It's not bad at all, but rather, disappointing, I had hoped that they'd avoid the use of DNR, or at least keep it to an absolute minimum, but there you go. The rest of the series fares much better, video wise, and audio is perfect to say the least. I've yet to start on the extras, will check them out when I can.

The close up were fine but medium or longs shots are not that much more detailed in my view. You can really tell that the first three films needed a new master when medium shots are only slightly better than the my dvd. Close up are great except for the super red faces on everyone which at no point looked natural.

When you look at Alien and then watch these films i cannot help but think what if. So far into blu ray's life circle and they still give us average to ok transfers on the big hitters.

Sorry to ask something that I'm sure had already been answered but did the headbutt get left in AOTC?

It's not a dealbreaker, just a curiousity!

Looks like I'll be getting mine thanks to a combination of both Amazon and Royal Mail.

Thanks, EclipseSSD - it's a tiny thing and I wouldn't have gone all stroppy if it wasn't but it's nice to have the films as intended (ignoring how loaded a statement that is...)

I agree. It's nothing to get severely angry about but I was disappointed that it was left out of the UK release, just seems unnecessary to me. Same with a scene in Spider-Man 2 where Spider-Man headbutts Doc Ock that we never saw.
