i'm surprised no one is talking about how Rocket sounds. Marvel released small clips of each hero, with their actor talking about playing them.

and in Rocket's clip he spoke. it was super short but i didn't really hear a british accent.

i would have thought that would be a hot topic in this thread.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but why would you expect him to have a British accent?

Actually, we were talking about it a few pages back. This thread has been moving quickly the last few days.

Because for whatever reason they gave him one in 'Marvel vs. Capcom 3', and later in an episode of 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes'. It's honestly jarring. They've never said in the comics that's how he sounds, so fans latched onto it, but it just didn't work for me. So glad they didn't go down that route here. Not too shocking, since they've changed it since in the 'Ultimate Spider-Man' cartoon.

I've been saying this for the longest... MARVEL mentioned after The Avengers, THANOS would be played by a known actor, not the guy who appeared in the mid-credit sequence.

Yeah... it never really fit for me either. So I'm glad Marvel did away with it.

The only reason I can think that people started using it was his original non-canon appearance in Marvel Preview Presents #7. Where he was written with a very obvious Britishy/Cockney sort of accent. But it's pretty much declared non-canon as the setting doesn't fit with his later Mini-Series.

oh ok, thought i was up on the thread. can't believe it moved that fast.

glad no one really cares. For some reason the accent struck me as not making sense. From what little i know of Rocket he seems more Logan than Captain Brittan.

can't wait for the movie. It is my second most anticipated movie this year after Cap 2.

There are two scenes, the Thanos scene is mid-credits and the shawarma scene is after the credits.

Excerpted from an interview on his Avengers appearance as Thanos:

Interviewer:You had the awesome opportunity to play Thanos through mo-capture, who appears at the end of The Avengers. Could you tell us about that process? I mean how does one go about becoming the face of one of Marvels most infamous villains and are you returning?

Poitier:It was actually Prosthesis and a costume with the Armor and Make up. Designed and constructed by Jose Fernandez and Ironhead Studios then Masterfully applied by Thom Floutz, with some digital augmentation. There were a few Make Up and Costuming sessions (Including the first one where I found out what role I was actually playing MIND=BLOWN) and a single shoot day for the sequence at the end of Avengers. I have been a Comic reader since I can remember ( I began hard core collecting when I was 9) and was Very familiar with the character. That being said it wasn’t too difficult to place my hand down, stand up, turn around and Smile “in Character”. Marvel would be the place to ask any and all questions about any future I may have in Purple…

Ah i see. God, that sounds horrible. Glad they aren't going with that for the film.

Isn't Michael Rooker in this? Just didnt see any glimpses of him in the trailer.

He's he is as yondu, however James gunn recently said he wants to save the rest of the characters for the second trailer. So yondu, Ronan, and maybe Thanos (doubt it for him tho) will be in the next one
