But are they done with the effects I only say that because they've been running a clip this week with cgi paul and its ok. But I watched HBO first look and same shot but they tweaked the effect and it looked much better. The picture below is tweaked.

At this point in the game? Yeah. It's locked. If I remember from when the 2005 King Kong was coming out, one of the behind the scenes showed how they were rushing and had to have the film finished three weeks prior to release date because they had to have dubs and subtitles ready to go for the celluloid copies. Given that mostly everyone has gone digital, not quite sure it there's any big changes in that time gap.

It's been locked since December 17, 2014.

Maybe Michael bay didn't finish transformers 4 until 5 days before release. I've heard of films not being done until right before release. Plus what if certain footage is picked out ahead of time with slightly underdeveloped cgi. We've all seen that before green lantern. I'm just saying I've seen two shots both released in the same week that look totally different. I don't know.

I find it interesting the fact that Walker is in a white car and a white shirt, plus the fact that he looks at Vin and vice versa Paul's smile is to indicate he is in a far better place and is happy.....

A white Toyota Supra which pays homage to the car him and Vin built in the first movie.

EDIT: Looks like a stellar review from The Indepedent as well:

I fundamentally object to the phrase “guilty pleasure”. What is the point of it – that we can only like certain things in a certain way because they’re considered a bit embarrassing?

Please. I’ve tried to do away with the whole “let’s like that but only ironically because otherwise other people might sneer at us” attitude because I’d rather be sincere about my cultural tastes than feel obliged to have endless chin-stroking conversations about Wes Anderson’s colour palettes.
Yes, yes, yes. Every single movie lover should read and agree with this. My personal attitude towards "guilty pleasures" as well.

Regardless of critics' disdain for this franchise in the past, I can't see how they can turn in a negative review for this upcoming film without looking like a**holes and sourpusses to the general public in the process.

Look no further than the critics who gave Fast Five and Furious 6 negative reviews.

So they can't dislike it as it's popular?

There's an actor's death revolving around this film though. Whatever his character's fate winds up being, it would be in poor taste to downright shred the film if that's the way the critics feel. A lukewarm review is one thing......anything lower than a C- would appear to be cruel to the regular public, showing they have no heart or emotion.

Lol this is the best thing I have read on the internet ever.

So this deserves great reviews now?

Haha! That film was torn to shreds by critics; BUT they did praise Julia for his portrayal.

I have no idea if you are being serious. It was hard not to laugh while reading this. Paul Walkers last full film is Brick Mansions if I'm not mistaken. That movie was almost universally panned and rightfully so. Every critic who shredded that movie is heartless?

I've been rewatching the entire series leading up to Furious 7, and after all these years, I still think it's too bad the route they took with 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Vin Diesel said he didn't like the script and that they did what studios would do in the 80s/90s and slap the same title on, instead of "Francis Ford Coppola-ing" it.

The first film ends with Brian letting Dom go. In 2, Brian is recruited to go after a bad guy in order to get a clear record. But 2 already had a clear starting point: the cops tell Brian he has to track down Dom. If he can bring in the fugitive Dom, Brian gets a clear record.

You could further explore the drama and the conflict of Brian doing his job and wanting a clear record versus the respect he found for Dom, and of course, the very real feelings he had for Dom's sister, Mia. Brian could have went after Dom, who would have gotten involved with an actual bad guy, causing Brian and Dom to team up and take the bad guy down. This furthers their relationship, and their bond, and also lets us explore Brian's path towards leaving his cop life and eventually becoming an outlaw with the rest of the 'family.'

2 always disappointed me in how we didn't get to see Dom and co. It was like an Indiana Jones movie - same main guy, whole new setting, characters and adventure in the next movie. Works for Indiana Jones, but for Fast and Furious, I'm glad they eventually got back to making "actual" sequels with the fourth film.
