You could always purchase it and add it to your collection for $2 since it is a D2D eligible title.

I thought 'The Martian' was Vudu OR iTunes?

...just tested a code at Fox Redeem and it directed me immediately to Vudu to redeem.

That happened to me once with a code I bought for Spectre. The slip only showed the UV symbol, and looked different from Fox's regular slips (no QR code). But I'm not sure which retailer or promotion it came from, and I wasn't able to get clarification from the seller, unfortunately.

Regular codes for The Martian should have UV, iTunes or Google Play as options for redemption. Did yours come from a standard Bluray?

Note that The Boy is listed as OR on the sheet, though likely + still works

Thanks, as a matter of fact, this slip does not have a QR code either.

I believe it was from a Walmart BLU.

I have seen some rumblings about Fox codes redeeming both ways. I've redeemed the iTunes copy of Independence Day on FoxRedeem...but could someone plug that code directly into UV and get a copy?

I haven't heard that, but if you aren't logged into vudu you can go to vudu.com/redeem and put the code in to test it.

Just tossing this out here, as of today Fandango has shut down the double redemption on Flixster. We knew this was coming, but today it has begun. No longer can you redeem once on Vudu and another on Flixster. It's now one or the other. Don't worry if you have redeemed a Vudu/Flixster dual redemtion code, the movie will NOT be removed from your library.

Fandango didn't buy Flixster Video, it stayed with WB, but dual appears to be pretty much dead...

Bummer. I was wondering why buyers were reporting them as redeemed. That explains it.

I just checked a code I have for the documentary Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics, and it still seems to show as valid at Flixster, even though I already sold the VUDU portion to a member here

I don't really care if it's no longer an option, I'd just like to know one way or the other. Mainly because I've been hoping/planning to sell the VUDU portion of my WB TV codes (Arrow season 3 and The Flash season 1) and then redeem the Flixster side for myself

It seems that a majority of older codes are still redeeming on Flixster if you use Vudu first. The news is coming that new movies will only have single redemption. The Choice is one that is only receiving a single redemption. Norm of the North is one that never worked on Flixster using the dual redemption.

You are correct, but what is happening is that there's a transition to the new Fandango service that's coming.

It is not clear that this is definitely going to happen, unless you have new information. Fandangonow is already up and running.

From Fandango as reported by Variety. Just one of a few articles that says the exact same thing.

Fandango said the Flixster Video home entertainment and digital video redemption service is not included in the transaction, but is expected to transition its users to Fandango’s new video on-demand service later this year and then be closed down. M-Go will be rebranded later this year and become part of Fandango’s digital network.

Yes those original articles all say the same thing without attributing it to a person or press release.

Follow up emails from Flixster don't mention that supposed plan and there have been no further articles or info. It may happen, but I don't know that it is a sure thing.

From an email from Flixster at the end of March, 1 and a half months after that Variety article:

Quote:
On or about April 1, 2016, Flixster and Rotten Tomatoes, along with their respective websites and apps (with the exception of the "Flixster Video" service) ("Flixster") will be acquired by Fandango Media, LLC. The Flixster Video service, which includes digital copy redemption and playback services, will continue to be owned and operated by Flixster's current owner, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

As part of this transfer of ownership, consumer information collected by Flixster on or before April 1, 2016, including your account information and past activity associated with your account, will be transferred to Fandango. Please review the Fandango privacy policy that will apply for more information. As noted above, this does not affect the Flixster Video service, which will continue to be owned by Warner Bros. Following the completion of the transaction and until further notice, your username and password will continue to be valid on Flixster, Rotten Tomatoes and Flixster Video.

Well not to go back and forth over this. Changes are happening and dual redemption is ending. That's all I'm trying to say, and I think that's all anyone cares about when it comes to digital codes. Just pointing this out so people don't buy a possible code that doesn't work.

Here's a breakdown: Any film that had a dual redemption Vudu/Flixster and you redeemed the Vudu portion before today, it will still have the Flixster portion available. Any code that had the Flixster portion redeemed first but you still have the vudu portion, it is now gone as of today.
