1. It was not a service provided by any other studio, so can't complain about that.
2. People were abusing the service, ordering slips for movies they didn't own.
3. They don't consider it worth their time dedicating CS time to something VERY few people utilized. They probably looked at the cost/benefit analysis and determined it wasn't worth it.

Historically, release week is usually the lowest. However, rcently for Black Friday they dropped some recent Disney titles in price for that day.

Could be, there's such a minimal difference between 1.78:1 and 1.85:1 that studios often list one for the other on the tech specs. Same with 2.35/2.4 being listed when it's actually 2.39:1.

People took advantage of it and it got out of hand. It was very nice of them to offer it to begin with.

So I just got a USPS update for my DMC order. Its about 40 minutes away from where I live, so I figured it would be delivered Tuesday. However, they have the expected delivery date listed as October 16th, three days after its supposed to arrive here. Needless to say I am kind of annoyed by this. Hopefully its an error and its delivered earlier than that.

Don't worry. In my experience, target's website is notoriously awful at updating and sending shipping statuses and other order notifications. I've ordered stuff that I never got a shipping notice for, but the item was delivered on time.

Closed for regular mail. They still make special deliveries.

I know it says "Sunday Delivery" on the package, but it came today.

Here's what was inside.

For those of you that order from Best Buy, how is there packaging? I want to pick up the Lenticular cover but I was work at both my jobs all this week. I can do in-store pick up but figured I'd get it sooner if I had it shipped but I don't want the slip to get messed up.

The last time I ordered from them (about a year ago, they had a big Criterion sale going on), the package arrived pretty good and was decently stuffed on the inside. Although I did notice that they opened some of the movies, and resealed them. I'm not entirely sure why, but they weren't factory wrapped (missing the sticker Criterion puts on their BDs and the wrapping was of thinner plastic than usual).

Speaking of that I remember seeing a usps truck out and about on a Sunday one day and I thought it was weird.

I just looked and my order departed the post office at 5:28 am and is in route to the destination. See before it arrives at my house it has one more stop to make which is my city's post office. And it still says shipping date of tomorrow.

Best Buy's packaging is generally terrible. For me, at least. I did order this to be shipped to try and avoid driving there, but the odds are good I'll be making the trip anyway to return it when it arrives.

It will either arrive in a corrugated cardboard mailer or a thin plastic mailer.

I've tried that, too, and while I have occasionally had luck when it comes to ordering movies, Best Buy will also often just ship items from the same order separately even if they are arriving on the same day. I had Aladdin in an order with 3 other items all releasing tomorrow. Those 4 items are being shipped in 3 different shipments (Aladdin was the only Blu-Ray, the rest were video games. I wasn't surprised, but figured I'd try).

And, yeah, I don't know which Amazon fulfillment centers out there are still packaging well - rarely I will receive a package that looks like the stuff I received MANY years ago from Amazon: items shrink-wrapped to a piece of cardboard to secure them during shipping. I might get packages well packed 1-2 times a year. 1-2 discs come in bubble mailers. 3-4 will come in cardboard media mailers, which aren't terrible. I now only order catalog titles from Amazon that I know I won't find locally.... and that's only if Best Buy isn't cheaper at the time I order.

Out of curiosity are there any major differences in terms of extras provided in the Diamond release Vs. the UK release?

Already have my UK hero slip from last year, but if this has got more content I may well just sell it for the diamond BBY slip.
